glynch, OK.........let us go with your withdrawal concept for a few moments........Israel pulls back as you suggest and offers Arafat a better deal than Barak did. What should PFLP, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, etc do to show their appreciation for Israel's good faith effort? Mango
If you try something once and it doesn't work. Try it again and it still doesn't work. Try it a couple of more times differently more intensely and it doesn't work. Try it for a decade longer and it still doesn't work. Try it for 25 more years and it doesn't work. It should occur to you that maybe this abuse against the Palestinians isn't keeping Isreal any safer. Infact I'd bet today its much worse than it was in 1975 for example. Sometime in those 35 years or so it should occur that the things you are doing are NOT working. Sometime in those 35 years American congressmen should realize what they are doing is dead wrong. They are just getting fat off of IAPAC and paying Israel to butcher people. (They are also letting Egypt and Turkey and Algeria and Morocco butcher people.)
Treeman, you're wrong. They haven't tried that, yet. They haven't withdrawn from the "occupied" territories, i.e, the territorities conquered in the 1967 War. This is what the UN and virtually all the world except for Israel and their loyal patron the United States has called for. I know you don't agree. I'm just pointing out what a qualifed Israeli has to say on the issues Interesting also is his role in the two conservative Israeli governments prior to Sharon.
No, I am not wrong on this. What the hell do you think the PNA was created to do? Pick flowers? They are supposed to maintain order and eliminate terrorist groups within their territory so that the Israelis don't have to. That is the sole purpose of the PNA's existence. It is why Arafat came back. It is why the Israelis had been pulling their military presence out for the past decade. They're not doing their job, so surprise, surprise, the IDF is back. I'd like to hear your answer to Mango's question (you know, that one you just tried to pretend wasn't asked)? Yes, a "qualified" (whatever that means) Israeli who represents a minority view in Israel. Would you like me to get some quotes from other sources? Representing more prevalent opinions, perhaps? I can/will do it if you ask... boy: You are speeding towards my ignore list again. When you feel like discussing anything other than ridiculous Zionist conspiracy theories, give me a call.
