Yao cannot be like Sabonis. Yao admitted in public there is no way for him to be at the same level as Sabonis.
who says he will try to build the same team he did in sac? maybe it will be more like the team in portland...maybe he will tailor fit his system to the strengths of his best players (something gundy never did).
juwon taking the chris webber role? oh my goodness. we do not have the personnel to be as good as the 2000-2001 Kings.
I think Adelman's Rocket will have the following lineup Steve Francis (Morey will work his ass off to take him back) Tmac (play Webb's role) Battier Novak Yao Doesn't look too bad if SF3 can be disciplined (big if)
I thought SF3 was frustratingly bad to watch Yao's rookie season. Believe me, now he's exponentially worse with bad ankles and knees to boot.
Yao don't even need wideopen shoots. In fact, Yao missed a lot of his turn around jumpers just because the defenders could push him underneath without a call. As long as we can creat some midrange attampts for Yao to avoid the defenders' push, he has the ability to make most of them.
this is good then if we do get francis. that would tell him he's not an all-star anymore and should curtail his individual play and more team. and STOP with the princeton offense crap. we're not gonna run the same offense the kings ran. we have totally different players. he's gonna alter his offense to fit tmac and yao.
We may not run the exact same stuff, but I dont see why we wont have more cutting to the basket and motion in the offense, regardless of who is out there on the floor.
I like this lineup, if it is possible: Mike Bibby whoever Battier Tmac Yao I think tmac should play more 4, he's tall enough and athletic enough
