I think the jury is still out on how this will affect the players but confidence is a thing - I just get annoyed by people talking down to people like this is such a silly thing to even raise.

I stayed away from the GARM last night because I was so irate with McHale. I truly do not understand a great deal of his coaching methodology. I'm a high school and AAU coach, so I do know the game, but in terms of a thought-process, I cannot fathom why you sit your best player out the entire 4th quarter when the game is still within reach.

I figure that McHale understands that the goal of a basketball game is to win. It's simple. I get that the Clippers are in town tonight, but you try to win each game, regardless of the next. I understand resting players for a back-to-back, but then again, how can you predict the outcome of the next game? You simply can't.

If McHale was trying to make a statement, he sure did. He showed, once again, that his rotations and trust in his players is a deficit. James Harden, Jeremy, Chandler, Omer and whichever weak power forward he plays are in good enough shape to try and compete until the game is truly out of hand.

Being down 9 points with 5 minutes left is MORE THAN ENOUGH time to make a run. With the amount of possessions our guys get each game because of the run-and-gun offense, it was more than possible. I had to listen to the Memphis announcers and they were also dumbfounded by McHale sitting our core guys out. I don't blame them.

James Harden isn't going to stand for this too many times. You could tell by his expression that he was frustrated and in disbelief. Same with Chandler...

I can only pray now that our guys make the playoffs and that they take control of the games.

God knows McHale is out of his league as a coach, and if we do miss the playoffs because of a game or two where he had an EPIC coaching failure, he should be shown the door.

I'd wager that 75% of coaches in the league would have had their guys competing until the end of that game. It's important to play the bench when there is no chance of coming back, but last night was coaching incompetency at its best.

It's not like we have a secure spot in the playoffs. A loss here and there are massive in the scope of things. The last thing the team needs is McHale hobbling them into the playoffs with a divide among players/coaches because of crappy decisions.

It happened last year when he chose Scola and PatPat to finish games desfensively, when we saw Bear and Camby changing shots and controlling the paint.

    Disgusting.

Bring back RA, JVG, Rudy, anyone. Hell, have Matt Bullard put on a suit and coach.

I don't really see the point in singling out one single player here. The fact is the TEAM as a whole just wasn't right and didn't execute as a whole last night. I don't understand why some posters can get so infuriated by me stating that maybe the leaders on this team need to step up instead of looking to McHale to give an Al Pacino Any Given Sunday half time speech, or make them elephant shaped balloons to keep them smiling.

My point is the team as a whole needs to take this game and the game before as a wakeup call that they aren't the Miami Heat or the 86 Boston Celtics. Nobody is going to just roll over and let them run off the floor, ESPECIALLY in playoff time. Not sure why this is such a controversial stament around here. No need to single out anyone, EVERYONE needs to get it together really fast. That's McHale, Harden, Lin, D-Mo, The RPD's, etc.

To Clutch and the other moderators: can you start a single sticky thread labeled "garbage" to put this thread and all the other rotation and coaching threads in? It would make it easier for those of us looking for something that is actually interesting to read.

U my friend or right! These players are aware that we are playing for a playoff seed and they come off a 7 game homestand and play two games; one at home and the other on the road and they didn't have the lead in either game from start to finish..............it's the starters fault, not the coaches

Apparently you didn't see the Indiana game. The starters laid down during that game too. Per Jermey Lin, Parsons and Harden, they needed to come out faster and establish their pace. Welllllllll, the laid down again. So, why put them back in the game?

He's one of the worst coaches in the league but we're going to be stuck with him for another year. Buckle up.

A lot of the new threads getting low stars have been made by people from 2012 and later. Coincidence?

I dare people here, being put in the same position, to play with 100% aggressiveness and confidence knowing that a couple small mistakes may get you benched for the entire next quarter. It wouldn't be easy, I promise. That's pretty much what Lin deals with from McHale.

Mchale is trying to be like Larry Brown. I remember Larry did the same thing to all his starters in a regular season game during the AI years.

Yeah, sounds more scary than a roller coaster. Except you're getting paid millions of dollars to sit on the roller coaster. Sux bad!
