considering how many times you posted the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over..... are you really that surprised?
That is exactly what I have been thinking. I can't get excited about the new coach untill I see what kind of player moves are made during the offseason. As of right now the issues we had after game 7 are still present and if we are holding hope that Synder, Vspan and Novak will take us to promised land next year, then our Roxs are in about the same situation as we were before.
I don't think you post too much if you would say something different. In the last year, I bet you've posted 8k times on the same 4 subjects: A. fire JVG B. play VSpan more C. play Novak more and D. develope the bench. IT REALLY GETS OLD . I for 1 like to get into and/or read honest discussions on the BBS, not "is so-is not" tirades. If i wanted those responses, I'd go listen to my grand kids. I have a question for you. How many games of not seeing VSpan & Novak play 10 minutes are you giving Adelman before you start calling for his head?
It will depend entirely on whom is on the Rocket's Roster next year. My whole point about V-Span was that I believe Rafer is not good enough, and therefore I was all about playing someone else. If we signed Bibby then I would not worry 1 bit about V-Span.....well maybe a tad, but not all that much. My point about this year's team is that I knew the team was not good enough as configured and wanted to take the year to grow as a team and try different parts to see if they would be part of the future. Now that the year has passed, IMO, we wasted that chance to find out and are still no closer to the ultimate goal, which is a championship. We should have been finding out about the bench for the future, IMO. I personally think V-Span is going to be good, real good, but I don't KNOW for sure he is.....I just like his "take no prisoners" attitude and his attacking style, both things I believe the Rockets need desperatly. Anyway......I hear you about the posts, it was a bad year for me as a Rockets fan I guess. I will try to listen more in the future. DD
i still don't agree with the change but Adelman was my 2nd choice after JVG....i';m ready to move on since there is nothign I can do...but i'm sitll pissed at Alexander for being an A HOLE!!!
Well... I am famous on this board for being such a JVG lover. I still think he is a great coach but maybe he was not for this team. I am going to miss my boyfriend. That being said... Hi Rick, I am Almu. I am 5'11" and weigh a very solid 190lbs. I am Latino and have a great career in Finance in NYC. I am a Gemini. I like long walks on the beach under moonlit skies, rainy days, going to the movies, dunking on punk mofos who refuse to recodnize and men who aren't afraid to cry. I am an obsessive, rabid, fanatical Rocket fan and all I ask from you if nothing else is a 5peat. Touch base with me if you are interested. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Best Regards, Almu
This is a lot like Bush and Rove the day after the 2000 Supreme Court decision saying, "Great news, everybody! Now we're all on the same side... Mine!" I'm a Rockets fan. I have been my whole life. But my enthusiasm is capable of waning. Les's treatment of Rudy and now JVG makes me want to sit this year out. I'm sure I'll change my mind, but I love the Rockets because of the personalities involved (Malone, Murphy, Rudy, Reid, Hayes, Sampson, Olajuwon, Drexler, Elie, Horry, Cassell, Smith, Maxwell, CBrown, Barkley, Mobley, Francis, Yao, McGrady, JVG, etc.), not because they wear a hometown uniform. There are things that could make me quit this team. Adding Pippen again would be one. Hiring Jerry Sloan would be one. My loyalty is not to a Houston jersey and it can go away. I don't have any problem with Adelman, but I have a big problem with Les. When Rudy went to coach the Lakers, my loyalties were divided. If JVG (or Elie) winds up coaching elsewhere, they probably will be again. And the irony of DaDakota starting a "positive" thread in which we are all meant to cheer him having gotten his way is too much to bear.
When are you going to admit that there has never been a coach you've liked and never been a player stuck to the bench that you didn't like. Were you stuck to the bench by a coach that didn't give you a chance when you played? Ah well, I accept your olive branch. Rick Adelman is my new favorite active coach. Go Rick!! Go Morey!! Jeff Van Who?
You know, the entire tone of this thread reminds me of the same stuff that we have been hearing in Washington for the past 5 years...Sort of like a "my country right or wrong" mindset and if you dare to criticize leadership for their mistakes and arrogance, then you aren't being a true American (fan).
I love the Rockets because of Olajuwon. When he was drafted, I was drafted into the Rockets. As far as the owner? I think we can all say with confidence he needs some people skills. He treats his people like someone who wants you out of the bed and out of the apartment after a one night stand.
Not to mention completely hypocritical. "Want whats best for the team" my butt. DaDa, you have wanted JVG fired for a while and let ALL of us know it multiple times, to say the very least. You're being disingenuous by acting as if your barrage of posts was in the best interest of the team rather than trying to influence the mindset of the posters by way of loudest voice, rather than reason. Even when others attempted to reason with you by bringing up facts and statistics, you simply restated every unsupported argument you had, until sickened by the lack of reasonable discussion going on, they decided to quit wasting their energy. Your constant haranguing quickly moved from being annoying to frustrating to ruining the board. Now, I want the Rockets to win, and though I don't think firing JVG was the correct way to go, I will cheer for them and feel for them the same. However, if things do go south, I know you'll be there to point out every single thing YOU think is wrong, irregardless of how incorrect you may be. However, heres to the new year, I'm pulling for Adelman to take the Rockets to the championship.
Thank you for this thread DaDakota. We all need to unite behind our new coach and support this GM in getting us some talent. We had hit a plateau and JVG could not move the team higher with the talent he had. I am not blaming him. Yao, Tracy and Shane need help. I have no problem with this owner as I lived through the dark days of Charlie Thomas.(Almost without exception - every person of authority I have dealt with in life-that had power over me has been duplicitous and double dealing...this is the way of the world.-IMHO) We do not have a lot of money left to work with after paying Tracy and Yao- so this will take some mighty searching for limited-expensive talent that will fit this team's needs. I leave the disappointment of the series with Utah behind......Knowing we could be playing San Antonio now..... Onward and upward!!!
Daaammn, DaDak. Perhaps instead of the olive branch you should have gone the "I've had an exorcism" route. Almu, if Dream was the reason you became a Rox fan, why is JVG your boyfriend? Well, everbody's different.
The next level will be reached in time and depends on Morey and Adleman on what players they can bring to the team in this and the next two offseasons. Players lost in the first round and players will take us to the championships. JVG or no JVG, Adleman or no Adleman
