There is an old saying along the lines of....

"...when you hear a politician railing to speedily push through a bill its a really good indication that you better take a much closer look at the fine print..."

The republicans should all stand together and NOT vote for it. The dems have enough votes to pass it and then they can have ALL the blame because its gonna crash like the hindenburg.

Add on the fact that, even including the listed projects that meet the definition of infrastructure stimulus, this list adds up to less than 3% of the proposed package.
So we have all this faked moral outrage over less than 3% of the package? The clearly have no concrete complaints, this is just obstruction with an eye on 2010 and 2012. Anything for ideology and party, the United States of America be damned.

Obama better break out some oratory...

We've got Great Depression era economic numbers and we're still worries about who is going to be blamed for it, incredible. How about the Republicans propose some workable addition (instead of all tax cuts or nothing) and stand together with the other party. If both sides have a stake in this, it's much likelier to succeed. But of course, that won't help the Repubs in 2010 as much as blaming the Democrats and screaming socialism...
