That jumping apparatus with the shoulder harness looked like spinal suicide. Get someone with a clue in there.

Lunges, single leg squats, split squats, split squat jumps, step box, dead-lifts, ect... There are alot of options that would be better in terms of performance transfer to the court as well as safer for his back.

Worse then that, it is not even an effective device. I can kind of see using an exercise with some potential for injury if the performance benefits are very high, but that thing sucks! BTW, what kind of doctor are you?

The squat in all of its forms is the single best exercise for vertical leap.

This is really hard to watch.......I guess this is why he's a rocket and we're just fans.

I say we all get together and do this workout, or better yet do the workout that you guys know for a fact are good for the back.

No better yet you guys do the workout and I'll kneel beside your deathbeds, and as you guys lay down on your strong backs, I'll pray that just one of you can get back up.

    GO TEAM MAC GO

I respect those who know more than me on the pros or cons of the workout, but I'm putting my money on a professional strength coach hired by TMac being more qualified than any of us here to comment on the merits of the regimen.

Regardless of the age of the video, if TMac is working out like this, I think it is great.

That workout is utterly moronic for someone with serious back trouble.

I apologized if I have created such confusion.

I was elated when I saw the article on sina.com, and knowing there are lots of TMAC's fans here, I decided to go ahead of its translation. It took me over 2 hours to complete it.

But after watching the youtube video of McGrady's workout, and relating to the fact that Wang Meng reported on Yao Ming's recent rehabilitation in Beijing just 2 or 3 days earlier, the probability for him to write this report onsite from Houston is close to zero. So this article should be just a behind-the-door fabrication from Wang Meng based on what he saw from McGrady's workout video that belonged to last season.

    D@#$%%M IT !!

HA HA this s h i t is funny. Ok so this is what happened. There was a thread in here that said something about the Rockets youtube group and told people to post videos. So i searched for videos and posted this T-MAC workout video from last year. I think what sina thought is that the video that was just posted on the youtube group was a brand new release and wrote an article on it. Good Job SINA!!!
