These things are so painful! I think i started passing smaller ones before I passed the big one. I remember sitting at work cramped over like no other pain. Then a couple nights later I woke up in extreme pain. I did everything I could to kill the pain. I remember laying it extremely hot water for an hour and then extremely cold water. Eventually I went to the ER. By the time I saw the doc, it had passed.
It never occured to me until my Uncle and one of my good friends both had stones that the terrible pain is the passing of the stone from the kidney to the bladder. The bladder to the toilet is the easy part in most cases. It makes me feel bad for my mother in law. She gets them every few years for some reason. I never realized the pain was in her back (I didn't really ask about them).
