While I agree that it's unfair to automatically call Tracy "soft" whenever a new injury manifests itself, these sentiments aren't spontaneously generated. People's views towards him have been cultivated for the past four years, not to mention his childish ways in Orlando. The truth of the matter is that you can't compare Tmac to regular Joes like ourselves. If you do, then you are certainly going ot give Tmac too much credit, when in fact, he should be compared to other superstars in the league like Kobe, Iverson, or Garnett. Those games that he played with the presented injuries isn't anything other stars wouldn't have done. In this league, unless you're physically incapable of moving, you play for your team, and we must expect nothing less out of Tmac.
i think he needs to start but i dont think the wolves will try to win, they want lottery so they are probabbly gona have some wierd lineups, i think tmac should rest, i have hurt my shoulder and its not good playing with it, and ive played with bad knee pain for my intramural team at A&M and later got an MRI and i found out I had a tear in my LCL so give tmac a break, if its hurting you just gota let it heal, no point in aggrevating the problem.
Tmac is hurting again rox will do fine without him angainst the wolves and then he can serve as a decoy against the spurs just by roaming the floor.
He needs to STFU.... I could careless if he is a pansy or not... but you dont go out and tell the world... you hurt your shoulder... cause the next game... cause if its only a bruise or isnt separated.... someone might want to separate it..
Kobe Summer of '07 disagrees with ya: * Bynum sucks, trade his ass now * Kwame and Faramare play like little girls - trade them * Make some trades to get better or trade me * I love LA, I wanna end my career here * The org doesn't wanna win, trade me to the Bulls * Season starts, LA's winning and the role players can actually play if Kobe passes them the ball for a change, keep me, I love LA. Kobe is the biggest cry baby in the NBA, he plays hard and is a great player but pouts as much as any NBA star. He gets a free pass b/c he's won championships (riding Shaq's coatails). Amazing how people forget the act Kobe he pulled, now all of a sudden he is a great leader/winner
So you woldn't like to know if his shoulder was hurt? I wanna know how he is feeling (the same as every Rockets' player) and I wanna have updates about it. That means he's got the respect for his fans cause he really doesn't have to do it. So you would like to know about that just before the game and than call him a 'quiter' right?? Well I have to agree with that. Last offseason was just special for Kobe, and it sure wasn't good for him. Blaming you teammates, changing opinion every single day...
I've figured out what it is. Everyone sayes you can look into someone's eyes and see their strong will and heart. People look into Tracy's eyes and they see laziness.
wow some of you are taking his comments out of control LIKE USUAL he said his shoulder is hurting a little bit (just like if you ask any player with a minor injury). did he ever say he's going to miss games? NO so dude has to be a warrior all the time and say the shoulder is strong, no pain, no nothing
i think this deserves its own thread (which i can't make) but I was about to read the story on Chris Webber on espn.com and i started thinking... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=adande_ja&page=Webber-080326 Chris Webber and Tracy McGrady are exactly alike. (this isn't a tmac bashing) They are both great passers that got better at it the older they got. They both speak their mind and reveal alot to the media. They both became hobbled by injuries. Neither of them have reached their full potential as far as accomplishments. They were both atheletic freaks when they first entered the league. Its almost eery but do you think McGrady's career will end the same way as Webber's?
I don't think Tracy and Webber comparison is fair, since Tmac is a better scorer and is a more complete player than Webber.
Well part of what i'm getting at is there are two of both of them: tmac before back spasms: great athelete, scorer, just reaching potential as a passer, above average defender tmac after back spasms: worse athelete, great passer, sub par defender C-Webb had some of the same changes in his career. Of course, he was a big man who scored less and is probably a lesser PF in the grand scheme of all PF's than tmac is of SG's.
Agree. T-Mac is on a winning team he is still top5 in guards in the NBA he is still a great scorer and he is still 28.
If he's hurt he needs to rest. You don't want to risk major injuries to your best player at this point of the season.
bumping your knee on the corner of your desk at work is not the same as t-mac running into a 200lb+ beast shoulder first ok. do you play basketball? with grown men. i doubt it so leave it alone
I don't think T-Mac is on anymore. It's like he doesn't quite have it. I don't know if it's his timing or balance but something is off. His shot is off too. I think it's time for him to go see Dr. John Patterson on his day off and get rebalanced so he can play at the highest level again.
