I saw it happen in the last minutes of the game where he ran into a tough pick. I am sure he will play, just one of those bruises everyone gets from the NBA grind. wow, major turnaround coming from the guy who openly called out t-mac for faking injuries earlier on in the season.
The first quote refers to his injury. The second quote refers to the possibility of missing a game. He says he's concerned about the injury, but not worried about missing games.
because, people such as allen iverson (who is a LOT shorter, a LOT more slight, and a LOT more willing to attack the basket) play with broken limbs and you hear nothing out of them. tmac let's the media know if he stubbed his toe in the last game. I love tracy, don't get me wrong...but man he sounds like a little girl sometimes (quite often lately). I don't know if he says it because he wants to have an excuse ready if he has an off night, or if he does it so people will believe he's "tough" because he's playing hurt all the time. either way both reflect pretty poorly on him, I'm surprised no one on the team has told him something along the lines of: "hey, tracy...stop leaking to the media that you're hurt. you're making the rest of us look like p*****s."
I remember watching/hearing something about doctors/experts said b/c of Mac's build and body issues when he was younger (maybe scoliosis?) that his NBA career would last around six years. He's obviously gone much longer. If this is all true, he should be considered a warrior, instead of weak/soft. If Zo can be commended for playing after a kidney transplant or whatever it was, Mac should be commended for playing with a body that is really not meant for long term NBA play. But I know that won't fly around here...wasted breath...dammit.
I would definately be amazed if i saw Iverson play with a broken limb... just crossing people up with one arm, slashin' through the lane with one leg. If he can play through an injury he does. I can't remember him ever missing a game for an injury he could have played through. So, he's open about his injuries. I don't see how it makes him tough or not. I could see the argument that he isn't as tough because he gets injured alot but not the argument that he talks about. How does him talking about it affect anything?
Man...I really love TMac's game when he is aggressive and going to the basket, but he gets hurt all the time. If he wasn't playing lazy so much, he would probably not get hurt as often.
Yea, I think alot of people saw that too. They definately said he had scoliosis and wasn't supposed to play more than 6 years but does it doesn't matter. He's playing, much more than you could say for some players who take the rest of the season off for "treatment" when he was playing fine (yea Dwade and Pat Riley are tankin it).
But I don't belive it has something to do with 'body issues'. It is just basketball, it is spotr everything can happen especially in basketball (a lot of contact). You cannot do anything about bumped knees, strained shoulders, sprained ankles cause it is a part of the game.
Agreed. People are writing us off again since we lost a few games after the streak. Winning (even if it is against a crappy team) with just our role players would be a great test for our team.
I just don't like how at first he makes it seem like a very painful injury that might require an x-ray, and then he goes and says it wont cost him any time and he's not worried about it.
Have you ever even HAD a shoulder separation, or anything of the sort? I have, and it hurts like HELL. Even if it's a sprain, it still hurts like crazy. That was some of the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I'm sick and tired of posters like you who continuously call out T-Mac for being a wuss, when in reality, let's see the facts : - he played at least a week on a knee that had 2 or 3 SEPERATE injuries with it, and refused to get an MRI (regardless whether or not that was smart) because he wanted to help the team by playing - he played with the flu against the Cavs on national TV, when he looked like he wanted to DIE. He had been in the freaking ER the entire day of the game, but still came out and put in 100% effort. - ever since Yao has gone down, he has clearly taken it upon his shoulders to do whatever it takes to win, whether it's take a step back, be aggressive, be a passer, or be a shooter - he played the entire game vs. SAC when he clearly hurt his ankle. then, in the same game, after he obviously hurts his shoulder (you could see him flexing it and rotating it the entire 4th Q), he still plays in the game, because it was a close one. It's so easy for someone like you to sit there and criticize him for being weak, and soft, but something tells me when push comes to shove, you don't push your body to 10% of the limits that he pushes his.
Too many facts and good arguments... i see it coming... someone will retort with profanity and or subjective terms like 'lazy', 'weak', 'soft' and 'heartless'
I really like the way you are thinking. This shoulder may hurt but the good news is that it is his left shoulder. I think he will play tonight, but right do not expect him to play 40 mins and don't expect him to score 30+points.
tmac is always like this .. always says something along the lines of "i am feeling sore this hurts pretty bad, but i will play i am sure its nothing serious" blah blah .. i mean tmac is a great player when he plays but he just complains too much.. u dont see iverson or kobe complain.. kobe is playing with a dislocated finger and iverson pretty much plays thru anyhting unless the Dr actually ties him and forces him out.. oh well.. tmac being tmac. but with that said i hope its nothing serious
