Amico: Sources speculate that Manu Ginobili could be Rockets option

Here is the Manu conundrum...

Manu was effective because he was a high energy player and played with reckless abondon and Pops limited his minutes and gave hin plenty of rest.

BUT....His reckless playing style has taken a toll on his body and he is now often injured.

AND...Because of his injuries (this is what scares me most about him) and age, he cannot play with the same style which made him effective. Spurs have missed Manu for a couple of seasons now.

PS. IMO, though his performance and the turnovers in the Finals was pretty bad, there was a reason for it. Spurs were going against the Heat perimeter defense, which is the best in the business, and Spurs had to make soe risky plays and push the issue to score points against it. Yes, Manu is a risk taker and he can make some boneheaded decisions which drives Pops mad, but he would not have taken a lot of risks in the Finals if the Spurs had other avenues to get some easy baskets.

Manu was or is part of the Spurs big 3. I would assume he, like Dunleavy who's no longer an option, wouldn't have that role on this team.

Manu, a great, great player, is just no longer worth it. Sad to say it but I wouldn't trust him in the playoffs.
