    this

Harden's offense is way too come and go in the playoffs last year, I feels like he shuts himself down a lot of times mentally when he doesnt get calls and it affects the whole team.

he needs to learn to play the game effectively when his shots aren't falling

Agreed. If James is not getting the call going to the basket, Dwight needs to be available to catch and finish around the rim. Jones was actually pretty good at that, but Dwight is so much stronger and should be more effective.

Dwight also has to create for himself and others every now and then. I feel like Harden's defense fell off when Dwight went out because of the burden placed on Harden offensively. Dwight will need to be somewhere between last year's playoff Dwight and this year's Dwight for us to go deep into the playoffs.

This is not an either-or situation. Harden-Howard P&R is one of the deadliest play in the game. Having Howard will make Harden's game easier even without the ball because Howard is draws so much attention. This also applies to other players looking to penetrate because defenders have to account for the lob and Howard's offensive rebounding.

None of that involves Howard getting post touches.

The PnR should not be the only tool in the tool box. In a 7 game series, the other team will get comfortable with their coverages if we just run that to death. If it's working stick with it, but there will be opportunities for Dwight in the post, and he needs to be efficient. thats why he's paid the big bucks.

    What if it actually is?

As long as he's not just saying what people want to hear who cares that a new chemistry would be a revelation or wasn't there before? Isn't that what we want from our players? For them to learn and adjust and grow?

We don't disagree though. And I know you would agree that we're about to be a much more dangerous team with our big guy than we've been without him.

I just want to say how nice it is to see such positive post. Seems more times than not, all people want to do is complain, complain, complain. Even after small wins streaks. We haven't lost more than 2 games in a row, been in the top 4 of the standings most of the season, Harden playing MVP bball, sustained injury after injury and still kept winning.

Even after all that there's always some Debbie downer nitpicking on why our season is over and how we'll never go anywhere in our current state. I just say be optimistic and cheer on your team.

Dwight's return/declaration should put the fear of God into the League. If he's 75-85%.. fockasses on rebounding, interior defense, and a little PnR...That leaves the MVP open to do his thing AND it leaves DMo with huge mismatches on both ends at the 4...post up time...all of which opens up our 3 point shooters for great looks....We can win in the slowdown/half court game of the playoffs.

I remember in the summer Dwight said something about how he needs to complain less about not getting calls during play, then the season started and nothing changed. I would still see him complaining while the other team was moving on offense.

Rebound. Go back to being the premier rim protector. Dunk hard from the easy passes coming your way. Laugh. Have fun. repeat 15 times.
