Agree. Can't tell you how excited it makes me to hear Dwight say that. If he commits to PNR, rebounds and defense, we could be a very, very good team. And he could be an absolute beast at that.

Howard would be better at being Deandre Jordan than Deandre Jordan is at being Deandre Jordan.

(he's a better defender and shot blocker, just as good of a rebounder and can finish at the rim just as well also)

Dwight will, and should, still get some touches in the paint. It draws attn and gets the other team in foul trouble. When he and Harden are at work we are usually in the bonus halfway through the quarter and that is a very good thing.

Yes, he has not shown the ability to dominate with his post moves, but that's ok, he is still a star in this league and will get some calls. Feed him a few bones and he will keep playing hard on D. Have to have some balance with him and Harden. I'm looking forward to having him back in the paint.

That's silly. Why in the world would Beverley try to step over Harden and Howard?

I agree. I just don´t think he will adjust to that role of being a defender/rebounder engaged in the pick´n´roll and putbacks on offense.

He can say Harden should continue playing like he is doing in his absense, but if the center doesn´t try to help the ball handler by setting screens, it´s not the same game.

Sometimes I feel Harden plays worse when Howard is on the court, especially because he's not helping him like Dorsey and Motie do.

I am not sure this will be a good plan for playoffs. No one can guarantee the current style of play would be as effective in the playoffs.

I had some pretty harsh critism on DH last time I posted about him. Here's to him coming back and proving me and all his other critics wrong. In rooting for him.

Dwight isn't a completely useless post player. If he gets great low position he is very effective. But when we just drop it in and let him operate like he's Hakeem, that is terrible because he simply isn't skilled. Hopefully we do eliminate that.

PnR, finishes, and quality over quantity post attempts. Dwight could still get 16 or 17 PPG with ease.

Not really. Just focus on defense, rebounding, and putbacks that's about all we need from him.

Ideally if the post ups are reduced to once a quarter and the pnr becomes the go to play then that's what we really need. However I'm not counting on it, Lakers fans complained about this as well....

Thing is, I think can be just as effective drawing fouls in the PnR as he is in the post. Teams know he is an elite finisher, so if he's about to go up, why not foul him and make him shoot free throws? The benefit to the Rockets is lower turnovers and not losing the flow of the offense.

Good to hear that our leaders are focused on wins, not on stats. Terry! McHale depends on him a lot on and off the court.

No reason why Dwight can't post-up when Harden gets his rest on the bench. It just should be within the flow of the game.

Thats another thing, we only have one post play where we throw the ball to dwight (usually off a terrible pass) then run the player baseline for some stupid reason eliminating the kick out 3. Why we do it don't know. Dwight would be a better post player with a PG that's can make that post entry pass on time. Because dwight has position initially but hardly gets the pass early. So I agree about quality, because it's not like he's completely awful at his post ups. I would like to see some Pablo and Dwight P+R these few games while Pat is out.

D-mo at the elbow or opposite post will also get Dwight some easy baskets. Hearing Dwight buying into what is obviously working is music to my ears. If 100% I bet his rebounding and points average increase from last season. Rockets will continue to play fast and score quickly. Should be more efficient as well with Dwight focused on controlling the boards.

    More possessions equal more opportunities.

smoke screen. There is no way we make a deep run with the offense so dependent on Harden. Howard has to do work.
