while I cannot disagree about people saying the words are empty until proven by actions I am going to optimistic in that this will be the case when Dwight returns.

Having vets like Terry and Ariza who have won it all helps exactly in cases like this and I think JET will call out Dwight if things do not go the way as agreed upon. The reality is that we have basically 1 season of those two playing together and it was on a different team with different personalities (omer, chandler, lin) of guys who were not happy with their role and it was something that openly effected both James (chandler, lin) and Dwight (omer and chandler w/ agent stuff) there are very little distractions in that sense going on with this years team outside of injuries.

Dwight has seen a childhood friend come in and redeem himself by playing what role was asked of him (Smoove) and you now seeing how happy Josh is has to have an effect on Dwight.

But you can see it on the court as well Dwight is having fun out there being the biggest cheerleader. The way Dwight was going after James hit that step back - doing the cooking sign and all. I mean at least to me he seemed genuinely happy for James. When he was on ESPN touting James being the only MVP in his book (i mean of course any teammate would say that) but I think he knows that its his job out there to help James and if anyone feels bad about not being out there to help win games its Dwight. Dwight knows the only way his legacy will be restored is by winning (it was the only way LeBron's was) and he can see night in and night out how he can help the team win.

I am always up and excited to watch any rockets game of course but tomorrow night its going to even bigger seeing him return -- even in limited minutes to see how he moves and how he plays. Face it this team needs Dwight to go deep in the playoffs and potentially win it all. Everyone on the team knows that and everyone knows that getting everyone healthy is what matters the most. I mean if it was playoffs right now different story but there is still some time. I love the approach that the team has taken with Dwight. Basically making sure his body can be as 100% as possible and making him more and more hungry to get out there and make a difference.

again words proven with action is what matters - but I rather have him say these type of words than say something like "this is james and mine team and all" I think his experience in LA with the way Kobe was also taught him how to be a more gracious leader as well.

Are you forgetting r when we started off the season 6-0 with that stifling defense? He had his lapses when he was playing hurt and it was pretty obvious he was hurt.

Less Dwight post touches and minimizing turnovers. Potentially more Harden/Dwight pick and roll, playing Harden's game. Dwight focuses on defense, rebounding and intimidations and shot blocking. Sounds good!

I'm hoping JET said "Hey remember how I won a championship with Tyson Chandler? Play like him."

They're called put backs. Dwight seems to be really good at them. I bolded 'consistent' cause I think you missed a few games breh. If post up TO's counted as missed field goals dwight wouldnt be considered offensive in any capacity.

Maybe so with the injuries, but I can also see dwight preaching and delivering for a spurt, then going lackadaisical.

Start by playing the pick & roll Dwight. Rebound, block, and dunk the ball every chance you get. It's on now!!!!!!

I tend to think that all this media attention around "the conversation" means Dwight is planning to be true to his word. If he starts down the old path, everyone (fans, teammates, coaches, and media) is going to point back to this.

If Dwight will be a super Dorsey.....gobbling rebounds and setting hard picks but with his own patented finishing and paint protection......this team IS a title contender.

It does, so now i'll see it when I believe it.

If Dwight goes out and plays the exact same role as Dorsey does AND he's healthy...he'll be Orlando Dwight.

If he's out there demanding post-ups every other possession, then he will take away from Harden's game.

maybe because he was hurt. im separating his play from the post ups. i could do with less of that.

underlying what this thread hopefully is and should be about is less about dwight trying to create his own offense and just getting his points off of harden creating of rebounds and put backs. stop wasting energy on post ups that make turnovers.

I'm glad Dwight realizes he's the 2nd best player on a championship contending team. Let the man do what he does in his prime like you were allowed to do in yours

I hope now he realizes he's the second best post up player too.

Dwight is the best defender and rebounder on this team and one of a handful of top defenders/rebounders/finishers in the whole league. That's what needs to be emphasized.

If D12 can get 15-17 points a gam off minimal post-ups we are golden. We know he is going to get his boards and be a factor on D. Very happy about this news!
