Americans and how much we know about Canada

    Growing up in Labrador was crazy. In the summer, the temperature would routinely go over 30 C. A TV station used to show temperature listings from all over the world and many times it got hotter than places like Jamaica, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, etc.. Nuts.

    Then winter would come along, when temperatures of -30 C were the norm and considered to be no big deal. It would take a temperature colder than -70 C (including wind chill) for high school to close. I'll never forget that one January morning when the officially listed temperature was -69 including wind chill and school still went ahead. Coldest day I've ever seen was -81 C.
