That's a misrepresentation of the truth. No one is suggesting he be hung without a trial simply because they think that 5 high ranking Taliban members shouldn't have been freed to secure his transfer from their prisons to ours. It sets bad precedent and it does so for a poor reason, meanwhile we let a Marine rot in a Mexican cell....

In these unique circumstances, in which the Secretary of Defense made the determinations required by Section 1035(b) and in light of the Secretary’s assessment that providing notice as specified in Section 1035(d) could endanger the soldier’s life, the Secretary of Defense’s failure to provide 30 days’ notice under Section 1035(d) was lawful.

    He is Obama, not Bergdahl.

whats far more desirable? letting murders of Americans walk free? I beg to differ

The ironic thing would be to make the 5 for 1 trade and end up locking the 1 up over here...

At least the partisan kids aren't trying to defend this BS anymore, they are going straight for attacking those who brought the subject to light.

Why would we defend something that the President is completely within his right to do?

Why are you against saving an American POW? Don't you support the troops?

Because you know it was the wrong thing to do but you don't want anything to blow back on him for doing it. I could just replace you with a Republican version of you if it had been Bush to do the same thing. You guys are pretty much identical.

It was obviously against the law. I haven't found one talking head on either side that says otherwise.

If what they did was legal, then why did they apologize to Feinstein? According to the white house everything had to be done lickety-split. No time to go through proper legal channels.

Yes Reid, what a hassle it was for all of us to have these murders locked up. I can breath so much easier now that they are walking around free.<iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Attacking? Partisan kids? Dude you need to step away from the F5 key and go outside or something. I lurk way more than I post and I have never seen a single user post this much on any one thread.

This thread is like the Trayvon Martin thread and the Benghazi thread made a r****ded b*stard child together.

    Wow, what a douchebag.

He is most certainly not within his rights to do what he did, and he most certainly did break the law - a law he himself signed. Only the Administration itself believes that it did not break the law. Ya know what? Just because an administration official claims that they didn't doesn't make it so.

And your straw man argument that those who think this was a crap deal are against saving an American POW is simply ludicrous. Even the military nixed any further rescue efforts when they had precise location information because they didn't deem this "American POW" worth putting one more American life at risk. So are you arguing that the US military is against saving the life of American POWs now?

    You're pathetic.

Yes, conflate this thread with two entirely unrelated threads in an effort to cover up the fact that you have no real point. It's probably a good thing that you lurk more than you post if this post is indicative of the quality we could expect from you.

Court martial the kid if he deserted; try him for treason if need be, but bring him home. Kill the Gitmo prisoners with a drone later.

PS if you read treeman's posts in the character voice of Jack D Ripper from Dr Strangelove they are entertaining.
