They do have to go through other judges. The judges pick people who they feel are really good or really bad (for entertainment). What I want to know is who pumps these people up so much they end up trying out? The subtitle section was hilarious! Krunk man and the girl before him had me rolling.
Eye of the tiger was great....especially when he started off by shadow boxing... AND the chinese chick singing the national anthem...outstanding!
Gene discovered Van Halen. He also knows how to discover women that will have sex with him. He claims to slept with over 4,600 of them.
First of all, Gene Simmons sings lead on all the songs he wrote, and back-up on quite a few others. Second, although it IS a guitar, Gene Simmons plays bass, so he'd be a better bass judge than guitar judge. Third, why the hell do I care? Fourth, Paula wasn't snobby with Gene Simmons. She's just embarassed that he has a naked polaroid of her in 1989 after he banged her backstage while KISS was touring in support of Asylum, or Animalize or whatever crappy album they put out at the time.
Bullsh*t. Paula was at the top of her game in 89, while Gene was a long-ago has been. If you'd said 79, it would've been a lot more believable.
hey hey hey baby I got your money oh man what was his name lorey wells or something? its the first time i've ever seen the show but i picked a great one to see
I knew he sang back-up but I never really followed him or KISS enough to hear him sing lead. My bad. It still doesn't mean he can sing if he's singing rock where you basically yell or scream sing. But, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt I guess. He's no Frank Sinatra, though. I actually said what I said about the guitar because I saw an interview with Gene talking about critiquing guitar players...not bass players. This came about because they had to audition new guitarists for KISS. He was saying what he looks for in a guitarist and one of the things was how they belted out power chords. Not that it matters.
Come on. Have you heard him sing "When You Wish Upon A Star" on his 1978 solo album? Side 1: 01. Radioactive (3:51) (Simmons) 02. Burning up with Fever (4:22) (Simmons) 03. See you tonite (2:28) (Simmons) 04. Tunnel of Love (3:53) (Simmons) 05. True confessions (3:39) (Simmons) Side 2: 06. Living in sin (3:51) (Simmons/Delaney/Marks) 07. Always near you/Nowhere to hide (4:12) (Simmons) 08. Man of 1.000 Faces (3:17) (Simmons) 09. Mr. Make Believe (4:02) (Simmons) 10. See you in your dreams (2:49) (Simmons) 11. When you wish upon a star (2:43) (Washington/Harline)
