They listen to/watch the dress rehearsals because it's apparently difficult for them to really hear the songs being performed from their perch. Paula just got ahead on the notes she took earlier in the evening... Still, I laughed my ass off.
I had no idea.. (until this week of course). That's terrible. They surely don't perform exactly the same under the pressure.. maybe sometimes better, sometimes worse. Still annoying.
I don't understand how Syesha is on the bottom all the time. Out of everyone..I think I like her voice the best. Castro needs to get out of there...but unfortunately...he has his huge girl fan base who is going to vote him in all the time. Top three needed to be David Archuletta, David Cook and Syesha. Oh well....
It's a popularity contest. Doesn't matter to any of the contestants who have made it this far though as they have already been discovered. Cook is going to be a rock star, Syesha will probably start performing on broadway, Castro will be getting high playing acoustic guitar and banging groupies, and Archuletta will start singing theme songs for disney movies.
Because we are living in the US of KKK! Dreadlock boy gotta go! But Syesha is no match for the two Davids.
That's a pretty accurate assessment of the top contestants. I think we need to dispense with the formalities and get on with the David Cook-David Archuleta final. The race for 3-4-5 is boring me. I know you were likely kidding, but Ruben and Fantasia would like a word with you.
Will all the 10-11 girls stop voting for David Archuleta?!? They should have Amateur American Idol. I liked him in the beginning but he is now boring. David Cook should win but I can see him getting jousted because of the voting process is flawed.
1st half: -Archuleta (did stand by me...expected type of song...but ripped it up. really good) - - -Cook (very average, esp. for him) - - -Syesha (thought she was a lot worse than they said. dancing covered up shouting) - -Castro (pretty bad and boring..a good 2 steps worse than Syesha) 2nd half: -Archuleta -Cook (*really* good, but I thought he could have done even better) -Syesha (hit a lotta notes, solid, right up there w/cook, will get some votes for the cleavage hahaha) - - - - - -Castro (CHOKE.. started out decently cause it's his kinda song...then he blew the words. But after hearing the rest, the song was kinda short and boring and not difficult. Sucked it up either way) Castro's gone. The rest doesn't matter much, though Archuleta was better than Cook clearly for the first time in a while.
Does anyone else feel like the judges are really pushing for a Cook/Archuleta final? I mean they were really going out of their way to say that Cook's and Archuleta's performances were enough to get them to the next round, and Paula went out of her way to say that she didn't think Syesha would advance. Overall I wasn't too impressed with Cook's version of "Don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith. I like Cook, but I really didn't like his version compared to Aerosmiths. Overall, I think all three had mediocre performances, but Syesha's was no worse then any of the other contestants. I just think it's obvious that the judges want to see a certain two in the finals and they are trying to push the votes that way as well.
archuletta should have been out long ago.... silly 11 year old girls with their unlimited txting plans
This is the corniest season ever. I can't wait for it to end. David Cook bowing to his sensei after each song is old and played out. If Archuleta wins, will McDonald's happy meals go on sale? "Hi, I'm David 'The Golden' Archuleta. My Happy Meals are on sale while my record sales last". Syesha's singing voice is below average compared to most current female singers, but much better at singing the broadway style.
totally agree. I had the same thought last night. And usually I'm not one for conspiracy theories at all. But I thought it even came out in the song choices that the judges and producers gave to Syesha. I don't think they wanted to give her a chance. Though in all honesty, the 2 Davids are clearly better than she is. Syesha sounds like she's shouting when she hits anything difficult, and she was off key more often than anyone else.
And on the actual singing last night.. I thought David and David did well on their first songs. Everything else by everyone was very mediocre. And Cook's middle song was less than that by a little bit.
I don't see why.. he's outsang the competition most weeks..and when he hasn't, he's almost always been among the top 3 singing-wise. Not saying he's gonna sell a ton of records, but he's been good
I think what hurt seyesha is that she had zero flavor. No matter how good you sing you can't go on American Idol these days and play it straight. A lot of the songs she sang we've heard a million times by other singers. I would have rather had seyesha to move on simply because of the sex appeal. She has a covergirl smile and body for sin. devastating combination. I wouldn't be surprised to see her get a covergirl contract.
