I'm in the Pacific time zone, but i've certainly learned to stay away from the internet for several hours before anything like American Idol that I don't want ruined. Its just the way it is. If I didnt see it here, I'd see it somewhere else.
Also thats cool that you know him AstroRocket. He seems like a really cool guy and I know he is one of the people that both me and my girlfriend will be rooting for
Josh, you don't even have to stay away from the BBS because you didn't see a show. It makes what you taped, TiVo'd, DVR'd, etc. a waste. The request is just to adjust the title of the thread so we can avoid it while looking at other stuff on this site. That's all I'm asking for....
or "American Idol: George" i don't know why i even care as i don't watch this show but i would be pissed if this happened to me with one of the shows i do watch.
Could you believe that awful brunette made it in the final 12? God, she is awful! Even my wife, who is no fan of good music (she likes Top 40), said she sucked! I'm glad for George. Nothing I love more than old-school Motown and George reminds me of that.
It's a very reasonable request to not put spoilers in the thread title, regardless of when the post is made. For instance, due to the state high school hockey playoffs being on the local Fox affiliate, American Idol was not on until after midnight in the Twin Cities.
Major, Yep, I just happen to not be concerned with what is in the title of the thread. Put whatever you want there, and if you don't want something you taped or tivo-d to be spoiled....avoid the hangout. DD
Yep, I just happen to not be concerned with what is in the title of the thread. And yet you keep arguing about the time of the post in all your responses. Something that no one complained about.
Sorry I didnt mean to make it sound like I am disagreeing with you .... I think it would be great if people made the change the thread title. I guess I was just making the point that being on the West coast I deal with that problem alot more often, and I am so used to it I just avoid everything because someone is either going to forget or not care and ruin it.
I agree that it's not an unreasonable request to put a spoiler warning in the title, I just don't think it's anything to get riled up about. It's been standard practice on this BBS and everyone who cares about this show and is a frequent visitor to the BBS should realize the risks they take when they visit the Hangout.
We arent asking for a spoiler warning. We are asking to not put spoilers in the title of the thread. American Idol: George vs. Americon Idol: George in top 12
Man, this is one of the longest threads I've ever started on here. I need to use controversial titles more often.
It's pretty common to try and avoid spoilers in thread titles on messageboards, nwo, bobrek, bbob, etc. have a point; even Astro recognizes that, he was just excited and didn't think about it, that's all. I don't see what the big deal is.
THREAD DERAILED....... It's ok to be frustrated that the thread ruined the watching of the show for someone. It is also ok for people to post whatever they want, spoiler or not, on this BBS. Relax. Everything's going to be ok. Don't sweat the small stuff.
Major, Here is the quote that infers that he had not seen it, and my point was that it had already aired. Thus the time of airing discussion. DD
You are all right...all of you. There, doesn't that feel better? Damn, don't make me get Stuart Smalley on your a$$e$.
