Tim (and probably Aaron) made it for the same reason Kris Allen is the AI and not Adam Lambert -- the teen girl vote. I know Andrew Garcia has his supporters, but he rode that one good song / performance into the final 12. Everything else he's done since has been mediocre. I'm glad Aaron made it, though. I think making the final 12 will be a defining moment for him and his family.
no, i don't think it was all the teen girls voting for kris cause i know tons of girls who are gaga over adam. I personally did not dig adam's style and prefer kris anytime over adam. kris has already gone platinum and i absolutely love his music. i guess tim's fans just outvoted everyone else.
at least Tim had a solid week. His previous weeks weren't...but this week he was. Alex shouldn't have gone home..but I do get Tim staying after last week. So I understand that. Paige over Lilly is ridiculous. Katie over Lilly is easier to understand, though I still don't agree with it Can't disagree with Katelyn (just bad choice, and she did look really bored on Tuesday...thought it well before the judges said anything) or Todrick
This season is really terrible. I've never laughed so much during an American Idol season as much as this one. All of the girls are so plain jane except for a few. The ones that actually have pipes are that glass blower and Katie Stevens, who needs to get her act together. I think the judges are getting too deep into her head with all their suggestions. Andrew Garcia should just sing that Paula song everyweek, they are never going to stop bringing it up.
This week was a disgrace. Katie still being there is criminal. She hasn't done anything of note since being on the show while Lilly has been good every week. Hell, Kara shook her head in disbelief after the announcement. I also think it's a joke that Andrew is still going on. Just because of his audition song? Really? He's been mediocre since then. I like his sound, but wow...
Seriously. If the final 12 were the right picks, next week would be tough as hell to pick. Now it shouldn't be. Katie and Paige are incredibly weak compared to the other girls and Tim Urban (lol!) Andrew and Aaron are all weak. This should be Siobahn's contest to lose.
Wow bad choices all around. Todrick's going out song was great. He went pure gospel with it. If he would have sung like that Wednesday, he would still be in the competition. I think he toned it down for America and it cost him.
I still think Didi will be in it till the end. I love her voice and look... I really wanted Alex to stay and Aaron to leave. He had plenty of potential.
this is such a down year in talent--i don't think anyone can deny that. Has the combination of everyone producing stuff on their own + 10 years of American Idol diluted the pool of "undiscovered pop-sounding talent" (until some younger, more talented people grow up) ? Or did they just make horrible decisions in the auditions and hollywood week? Or was the tryout pool just not as good for some random reason this year?
The really funny thing is that after Hollywood week and before the live performances, I was thinking that this would be one of the strongest groups ever. It seemed like almost every one of these people had a killer audition or had an awesome moment in Hollywood week. For some reason, though, they have all seemed to get worse once the live shows started. And I am a huge fan of this show, and sometimes there are just weak seasons. Seasons 3 and 6 were absolutely awful, and both times the idea was thrown around that the talent pool had run out. Obviously this wasn't true as Daughtry, David Cook, Adam Lambert, Elliott Yamin, etc. were all found after. I think this may just be one of those seasons where the talent just wasn't there.
i think it's a mix of all those, with a larger % on it being just a random off year, but i'd add to it that the show is at the point where it's going to be hard to find somebody unique who brings something we haven't already seen to the table at this point. like lee dwyze...he's ok, but we've seen him in chris daughtry, who was a million times better, so how excited can you get about him?

I didn't catch anyone before Katie but I think i'll still pick my bottom 3 Tim Andrew Lacey Andrew is going home. I hope Lee and Casey step it up because its gonna be Shioban and Crystal in the end. As much as I love Crystal...this season SUCKS!
Agreed. Last night sucked. There were basically four tears. Good- Sioban Better than average Crystal Didi Forgettable everyone not on the above list or... Terrible Tim
