If you're saying he sounded terrible in that final song, to his credit, he was singing while nearly in tears and in complete shock. I'm surprised he made it through the entire song. I like Lee and Sox, I think they will both make good music as long as they stay true to their sound and don't go all commercialized.
Crystal was robbed. Though I think Lee was better than her over the previous 4 weeks. So if you were voting on the overall body of work (which I assume many fans would do), I'd say it should've been close to even. But based purely on the finale, Crystal killed Lee and was robbed. But Lee had been the semi-nervous guy earlier in the season, and it took him a while to start breaking out. In the finale, it seemed to be him going back into his shell at a big moment. Though his last performance wasn't good due to emotion and all that, I think he was at least more "into" it. Overall, I think those 2 will be about equal in terms of recording careers. (And I don't think either one will be successful. Terrible season overall)
While the season on the whole was bad (lot of mediocre talent that got exposed once on the show like Andrew, Paige, Haley, Casey and Tim) I definitely think Lee has the potential to have a good career. Crystal is going to struggle more imo because for all the praise for her "real artist" gig, that style of female musician is just a big seller anymore.
I didn't think the show was great, I thought it was hard to watch. I felt embarrassed for some of the over the hill artists that tried to sing. I hope I never see Janet Jackson and her dance troupe ever again.
Seriously. It was embarrassing. Paula stumbling all over herself on stage trying to be the star of the night was also embarrassing.
That was the worst part. I thought it was one of the better shows of the year though--one of the more watchable ones with celebrities on it. The former idols did a good job at least. Most of the performances were good.. Paula just ruined it.
Between the 2, I agree. But I still don't think Lee will do all that well. He'll fall closer to Ruben, Elliott Yamin, Taylor, Mario Vazquez, and those kind of guys with sales...maybe 1 or 2 radio songs and then gone. Though I do hope he beats those expectations!
