The funny thing was Ryan kept saying "The most talented group of contestents ever" but I just haven't seen any that stand out all that much. DD
The more I watch this show, the more I am convinced that Ryan Seacrest's role is that of hype machine and nothing more.
Is it a good bet that Danny is gay? Otherwise, I don't think I've ever seen a male who is quite so feminine and straight. He almost seems like a hybrid male/female if I didn't know any better. I guess it's a good thing I'm not an alien from another planet visiting and he is the one I make first contact with because I would be majorly confused.
i assume sanjaya was gay too? i think my gaydar is working properly but one never knows. i guess the chicks would still dig someone like danny and he has a shot at american idol but it seems like he would have a better shot if he were straight. lol
Wasn't there a gay winner from UK Idol? Totally Unrelated: How much does Ryan Seacrest like to massage the shoulders of male contestants?
I believe that Sanjaya is gay but he was a lot more ambiguous and mysterious about it. Danny comes across as a massive flamer, so I don't think there is any doubt about it, lol.
agree on both counts. ha, and about Seacrest (being a hype-machine) too...this year even moreso than before.
David Archuletta put down one of the best performances I've ever heard on there today.. and I was definitely thinking that while listening to it, well before the judges said anything.. the kid is amazing.
Here it is.... <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MUZ79aLar0Y&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MUZ79aLar0Y&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> It brought tears to my eyes....that kid is amazing. DD
haha. I know you're a big fan of the show, but cmon...tears to your eyes. I watch this on DVR...why...because it takes about 30 minutes that way. That kid can definitely blow (though there is a slight nasal-ness to his voice I don't like), but a lot of them did pretty good yesterday. The kid is the best singer by far, but he doesn't strike me as a music star...he'd be great on Broadway. the dude with the dreds scares me. his face is all messed up. Chiquita banana is funny. The guy with the guitar near the end ain't great, but he clearly knows what he's doing...it's funny to compare him to the guy with the dreds, who looks as if he knows all of one or two chords on the guitar. the australian dude probably has the best "star power" - solid voice, the ladies like him and he has shown an ability to like/pick actually enjoyable songs (queen, doors).
I do love the show and also DVR it, so I can zoom through the amazing amounts of commercials. As for the tears part? What can I say, I am a sensitive guy. DD
dvr'ing the results show is even more obvious. one hour of programming taken down to 1 minute of show...
I like the dreads guy and I liked Chikezie's performance last night, but hated his performance last week. The kid is a really good singer but I agree that he doesn't seem to have that star package.
I agree with this as well, but is there any doubt he will win it this year? The kid comes off as a singing prodigy, he is ultra-humble which will appeal to the older crowd and he is LOVED by the teen girls. How is he not going to win?
