http://www.myspace.com/josiahleming He writes all his own music and plays all his own instruments. While you may think he is annoying, he has more talent than most of the guys that made the top 24.
Then he should sign up for a songwriting and instrument playing competition. How many times over the years has Simon reminded people that it's a singing competition, period. His singing just wasn't up to par...
Wow, has this show not jumped the shark yet? From what I have heard the show still gets good ratings but most of the winners and runner-ups have been dropped from their labels or have experiences horrible records sales.
Well the TV ratings is all Fox cares about, but there have been a few that have dropped from their labels and they got lots of press, but there have also been huge successes. The guy from the last season, Daughtery, has done extremely well from what I've heard. Didn't he even sell out a whole tour?
Some Idol scuttlebutt (courtesy of VFTW.com): The Carly Smithson plant debacle grows stronger by the day. We've done our research to find out something very interesting. Carly was signed to MCA records during the same time period that Randy Jackson was the senior vice president of A&R. Carly was at MCA in 1999. Randy started at MCA in 1998 and was there for 4 years. Should this mean an automatic disqualification for Carly? We think so! An American Idol wikipedia entry says that Thomas Lowe was disqualified last year " because it was publicized that he had been signed to BMG while Cowell was at the label, which is against Idol rules." If it is, we demand that Carly be disqualified. If it isn't against the rules, that's some shady, shady stuff going on. This plant definitely made it to the top 24 based on a prior connection with Randy, which should be completely unfair.
He really just had that one terrible audition. The first two were great and the judges loved him at that point.
Yes, I have definitely been watching. As RM95 said, Josiah was doing great until he acted like a little diva and decided he didn't want the band to play with him that 2nd time around in Hollywood. His rendition of "Stand By Me" was absolutely cringe-inducing. It was so sad to see that happen because you like to think that he would have made the final 24 if it hadn't been that. I am betting he still gets a record deal from someone. I don't like that Carly girl and I am not surprised to read what Vescey posted. I would love to see her and that rocker chick nurse eliminated very early on. I also don't care for the Johns guy but I think he will probably make it to the final 4. Watch out for the Noriega kid - he could be the next Sanjaya with his flamboyance but unlike Sanjaya, he really can sing (so far that seems the case). I like David Archuleta a lot as well as Syeesha (sp?), I also like Chkeeze (or however you spell his name) and the cute little short Asian girl. Those are the 4 that I would like to see make the final 4.
He's got a national tour to get back to...in his car where he sleeps. I heard he was going to play one of Michael Vick's dog fights before Michael was arrested. lol Dude should have stayed in school and majored in music. Now, he's just a drop-out loser who isn't going to make it. His phony singing British accent seems to be borrowed from the lead singer of oasis. I'm not even sure that is his real singing voice versus what he is trying to project as his real singing voice. It seems to me he may have just heard "Champagne Supernova" one too many times and decided to sing like he's British.
for all those kady malloy lovers when i saw her on tv i was like man that girls hott but she looks really familiar and then i realized that she was at my friends party this past summer and i danced and talked to her for a bit. She is even prettier in person than on tv and man shes got an amazing body too, hope she wins so that I can have more to brag about lol.
I just don't see a lot of 18 year-olds jamming to Oasis these days. I thought he was really good and the judges agreed...until that last song. Dude choked. He'll be alright.
I know the controversy, but Carly Smithson is really entertaining to me so she's my favorite girl so far.. Michael Johns I feel will go really far and tons of ladies will love him.. My dark horse so far is Syesha Mercado, I think she'll bring it..
I'm undecided if Josiah was deserving to make it, but I really like this audition: Josiah performing Grace Kelly by Mika. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/m4aILqjzKAU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/m4aILqjzKAU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I liked David Archuletta and Danny Noriega from the guys' side. Or, they stood out the most to me. From the girls side...Ramiele was decent, Asia'h was decent (but her story is helping her for now, too).. but they didn't stand out as much as the 2 guys above. Don't like Syesha as much as the rest of you. Like Carly more than you guys have been saying. Last, I think Colton, Amanda, and probably Brooke will be among the first ones out. (went to the site to get names since I didn't remember them)
It's looking more and more like Danny Noriega is gonna be the VFTW pick. Sanjaya with actual talent. Watch out. Sadly, I'm willing to bet anything that Kyle Ensley (the goofy, nerdy kid that Simon liked who wore a tie and glasses) was nixed not by Paula and Randy but by the producers themselves (i.e. Nigel Lithgoe). He would have been the VFTW pick for sure and likely the next Sanjaya, which probably scared the heck out of the producers.
You guys saying Danny noriega is sanjaya w/talent do realize that Sanjay performed as well as Danny did in the Hollywood round prior to rd of 24, right? Sanjay did well until he got to the live rounds and then he's horrid singing ability showed up. Who knows, that may happen to the "batty boy" noriega.
