You spend $350k a year and then post on a message board all day? You're doing it wrong.

I really haven't been posting much the past few months as I have started a nice little side gig that takes my free time.

I like it here, though. Just because I start making $ doesn't mean I forget where I came from, ese.

It all depends on if you're gonna do the things that the card benefits you. If you're likely to not travel, attend events, or stay at hotels, the only real reason you might get this card is for status as there are plenty better cards for membership points.

Aren't these invitation only? Why would you decline if you are already a platinum member and most likely have a net worth of over 10 mil?

It also makes a nice coaster for your drinks. Thanks to the higher quality materials used to make the card.

If you spend enough money to get the invite, it's worth it. Although it's not as exclusive as it once was...

If you have the net worth and get an invite then what does it matter?

    Get it.

I imagine there are some stupidly high fees involved, and the same amount of credit, if not point-of-sale limit, is available elsewhere.

If you have the money to get an invite, the fees are irrelevant.

I think the platinum card has the same benefits but lower fees and requirements. Depending on the promotion, it could be a good deal.

I had the Ritz Carlton card for a year. It was made of black steel and I always had to drop it like a plate. I figured if there was some attacker, I could play hero and throw it like a shuriken.

Funny thing was that I made money off that mofo even with its $400 annual fee.
