Sorry but this guy will never be a Star Player. He looks not mental strong enough and i dont see anything what is doing very strong. I think he was the biggest mistake at the last Draft. I hope i am wrong but i dont see anything at this player. Cam Withmore will easy beat him.
I'm doubting if he'll ever develop enough offensive skills to justify where he was picked, but I will be shocked if he doesn't play in the league for a long time.
The shooting will come with time Jimmy Butler shot 18% from three his rookie season Rajon Rondo shot 20% Amen is in this type of mold--a guy whose defense, rebounding, passing, basketball IQ, work ethic are good enough to overcome it and stay on the floor. If you can stay on the floor, the shooting gets a chance to develop. And once it does, he will be unguardable.
I really don't see a point guard. Point guards, even those that are backup level, have great handles. You look at other non-shooting PGs like Rondo or Kidd or even Ben Simmons, their handles were magnitudes better than where he is right now. Rondo actually had plain silly handle. But again...I see an Iguodala-lite player, just Iguodala with less scoring ability. That's 100% fine with me. Like an ultimate utility player. Star player? Look, I think we get too wrapped up in that. How many star players the Nuggets have? I think he could definitely develop into a player on a championship team. Of course in a perfect world his handles tighten up and he gets his shooting to average levels and dominates the NBA...and I hope that happens...but realistically I see a dynamic wing player that does a bit of everything and a super glue guy.
He's more of an Iggy type player. Iggy got a somewhat serviceable 3pt shot later in his career. Hopefully Amen can do the same
In some ways i wish we never got Fred because of the freedom he got tonight to start and just play the point
The thing that I like about him is he plays within himself and the system. He will become more dominant in time but his floor is NBA level. Hard to believe he was playing with and against high school kids less than a year ago. His talent is undeniable.
Nothing dominant. Played within himself. A little smoother. But still Awkward. Some pressure to cave the defense. I'd give him a C- which is fine for a first start.
He can still be a pg. Being 6'7 and guarded by midget he can have his way in the lane and also lock people up on defense.
Give this kid a couple years. We'll be happy we did. Hopefully he can do some workouts with Tmac this offseason and show him how to use his length and athleticism. They're in the same mold. Long arms, great court vision, insane speed and athleticism.
