Amen going downhill is ruthless. His body control is elite going full speed on both sides. Get those free throws shored up and the shot should follow.
I won't utter his name here, but he sure looks a lot like a young version of that other Chicago Bull from the nineties.
The spinning layup with the left hand at the :19 mark is special and the fact that he looked comfortable raising up on his jumper was encouraging.
Dillon needs to be the 20 min guy if still on the team. Amen should be playing 30+ starting game 1. Anything less is unconscionable. He is our future superstar PG on offense and should be starting a SF while FVV is on the floor, but getting plenty of opportunity running the offense no matter who is in the game. I doubt that he can develop a good jumper in one off-season, but as soon as he does they can deal FVV.
Is it me or are a lot of the same strengths that Amen has are similar to Toronto Raptors TMac? People don't remember he was a defensive stud his first couple of years. Similar body type though Amen has more mass and strength though. But Amen came to the league a bit older and a bit more developed physically than TMac.
With Reed Sheppard on the floor? Point Forward. That's how you introduce the league to "Mr. 45% Three Point Shooting Man".
Amen plays with a force on both ends of the floor that is far beyond his size. That's the best way I can describe it. His athleticism is just insane and he uses it so effectively. Just needs to bring tighter handles this year and hopefully a serviceable jumper.
Why on earth is he back at it with the guys who left him as a 13% shooter after two years of development? Imagine we had drafted Amen at 19 years old. Damn. He'd already be a 30% shooter by now.
