so rare to see an Oakland born and raised kid who doesn't like the warriors. not so different from jimmy butler not liking houston i guess.
When do the NBA All-Defenses team get announced? Only thing to look forward to besides the draft lottery.
Amen took some steps forward this year and I love that. I trust that he will work on his craft in the summer so that he will be even better in year 3.
Some of our posters have been asking if he has the shot creation to be a #1 offensive option--this is it right here, you're looking at it. He is able to blow by most defensive players with ease due to his ridiculous first step, his leaping ability allows him to hang in the air for a long time, and his body control and touch allow him to contort himself and finish around defenders. He's also strong enough and tough enough to play through contact and draw fouls. On top of that, his midrange game has grown tremendously this season and he has been hitting shots from 3-16ft at nearly 50%. Basically he can do Dwyane Wade kinds of things on offense, albeit his handle isn't as good yet--but it may get there. (Wade started out in the league at the same age Amen is now and averaged 16 points per game.) Of course, it's not the 00s and early teens anymore, a jump shot is much more important than it was then. But if you don't think a young D-Wade would still be a great scorer in today's game, you're nuts. Also, I believe Amen will develop at least a passable jump shot.
