A lot of times, Amen just out-hangs the offensive player. Even when the guy double pumps in the air, Amen is still up there to swat the shot.

People were touting Scoot as the elite athlete of the draft at the PG position. Turns out Amen was the real outlier athlete while Scoot is a bust

I thought Scoot was going to be CP3s shooting and playmaking with Russell Westbrooks athleticism.

Turns out he's Russell Westbrook's shooting with CP3s athleticism and Jalen Green's playmaking.

if we had drafted scoot, this sub would be in full melt down mode with how bad he has been lol

Goes to show Stone shouldn't be drafting his lotto picks based off of ESPN projections like he did for Green and Jabari.

Amen Thompson got that back up point position on lock and gunning for the first.

He's average at creating for others, he's elite at offensive rebounding. I'd rather seem at the 3, for now.

Let's not revisionist history here. Scoot was always more praised for his poise and Point Guardiness and Amen was considered the vastly superior athlete. Here's snippet of what Hollinger wrote about both pre-draft in terms of their physicals.

    Amen
    Scoot

He reminds me somewhat of Fox who couldn’t shoot 3s earlier in his career but could get to the paint and has a good mid range. Fox shot longer mid range and more dynamic offensive game than Amen but just the lack of a 3 pt shot and how he bullish and quick he gets to rim reminds me of Fox

I disagree. He can run point just fine and has shown he can find open players and make plays

I gotta believe if it was his full time job he'd be great at it. I think they just have Fred so his job isn't distribute it's defend and get downhill. If his shot comes around to a 33% level there's no way in hell he's not your point. This guy is special.

Better than offensive rebounding? I think he belongs around the basket.

he can do it all. But they already have Fred and Reed running point. Great thing about him is versatility. Very special player

you know what’s crazy? I think opponents feel fear when Amen is defending them. Usually its the opposite when you’re a defender you’re afraid of an offensive juggernaut on the other end. But he’s such a genius he flipped the game and creates this aura on defense. It’s a bit intimidating as he locks down, harasses, and creates turnovers on opponents. It puts doubt and hesitation in opponents like how Ray Lewis did it in football. Glad he’s on our side sheesh

And what's even more amazing is when he doesn't steal it, many times he will force a pass that isn't quite as sharp as normal. This opens the door for Tari to steal the pass as he overplays passes. True Synergy between the two. BTW, we're 2nd in the West now.

Amen is Ray Lewis and Tari is Ed Reed.

Mike Miller knew all along while many Rockets fans doubted. Saying this about the twins before the 2023 draft:

“They're elite kids, they're elite workers, elite competitors, obviously elite athletes. They can have everything they want. They're hard workers, they're grinders and, you know me, I love the grinders," former NBA veteran Mike Miller told ESPN last year.

"They're playing against guys who've played basketball their entire lives, and they've got them scared to put the ball on the floor."
