No way I trade Bari for Mobley. Bari is 80% as good as Mobley at 1/2 the price. I bet you Bari will shoot at least 39% from 3 next year - you don't trade a guy who is 6'11, who is only 23, and who can shoot like that on his deal.

Why stop there, Quentin Post is 80% as good as Jabari for 1/8 the price.

He has the 15th highest salary in 2026/2027 and that will be even further down the list by the time the season starts. It will be farther down the list in 27/28. Total value is a bad comparison since his contract has already been signed and is not even close to the current supermax contracts that can be handed out over the next several years. As a percentage of cap it will also be going down as the cap goes up. It’s a bad contract, but not near as bad as people are pretending. He is only 25, so there is room for improvement. That being said, I don’t really think he’s worth it for his current role on Cleveland. He might be worth it on the Rockets, but it’s iffy and would be a huge gamble.

I might swap KD for Mobley though. And before you grab your flamethrower, note that Mobley is one year removed from winning Defensive Player of the Year and shooting 37% from 3. A smart GM would buy low on him.

I would be intrigued by Amen, Bari, and Mobley as defenders around Sengun and Reed, with Tari as another pit bull off the bench. As amazing as KD was on offense for us, his effort wasn't always there on the other end (though I can't say I blame him given his age and workload).
