The material should be solid since it's Anne Rice, and AMC has a good track record, but this might be a step too high for them on the special effects scale. But I will check it out.

Daddario has a good track record in television, and a sketchy film history. So it will be interesting to see if she can pull off something that likely falls in that middle ground.

 

There was a contest over the summer going into 6th grade to see who could read the most books. I read everything Anne Rice had written at the time.

I don't remember it that well... but I know there are some raunchy tales to be told. I'm in.

One of the best series of books I have ever read, I just posted something about this being a great series for an adaption.

They are going to have to age up a major character.

Would have loved for it to be on a channel like HBO, there is a lot of sexy going on, but AMC does these shows well, I need to read up on who is doing it.

 

The Witching Hour is just a fantastic book. I hope this is a close adaptation of that.

 

I don't remember there being a lot of things that need great special effects, but I have not read the books in over 20 years.

Some good actors in this series, especially Jack Huston, Lasher is an important character.

I wonder how much they tone down the incest and sex for AMC.

Been waiting for this for a long time, I am not liking what I am seeing from Interview with a Vampire, but I will give it a try.

 

Once Le Stat got involved, they were good I have read all the series except the S&M stuff, mainly because I loved the historical aspects of it.

All of this stuff is high drama and soapish, and they will have to balance a lot of the over the top emo stuff.

I just saw she wrote another book in 2014 I am going to have to check it out.

That's way early for Anne Rice, you could definitely go down a wrong path after reading that so young.

 

Yeah, I was thinking they could have an entire night between The Witches, The Vampires and even a mummy series, and they all intersect.

Oh, ****, I forgot they are doing Interview as well.

Just hope it's not CW level of tween bait.

 

Yeah, I have more faith than that, but there is a lot of Melodrama in those books and a lot of emo stuff, so it would be easy to not get the tone right.

agreed. Wonderful series so full of depth and characters. The Interview with a Vampire series on AMC seems to be getting good reviews. Would expect nothing less for this vehicle.
