Just finished the first half of season 5. WOW! I can't wait for the conclusion of this show. Is there a preview for the second half anywhere?
Family guy fell of its game a while back but... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zIom3LSbB0I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Lol in my case this is really true. Talk about to show to most friends that watch it whenever I see them, as well as constant recommendations by everyone for those not watching it.
Took me about a month and a half but I finally caught up. Wow! I'm not one who likes to rate shows or proclaim how blown away I am by something... but, wow. The show is amazing, and I frankly can't find any fault with any of it. The writing is so far and away beyond almost any show I've ever seen it's impressive. There may be a few other shows of the last couple of decades you might argue could be in the same ballpark, but to make a sports analogy, it'd be like if the NBA was dominated by a bunch of Shane Battiers and then all of a sudden along comes Lebron.... The acting is superb. It's not just Cranston. He's fantastic. And while I think few would do as good a job as him, he also benefits from having come off what so many people remembered him for previously - Malcolm in the Middle. Not just because that was stuck in your memory, but because I think Walt's good parts even have a bit of Malcolm's dad in there. But Aaron Paul is great. Hank is fantastic. Gus was obviously great (and if anyone started watching that Revolution show on NBC he shows up there, though its criminal to watch that shows writing vs. BB). Even new characters introduced are acted almost to perfection. I mean Todd is perfect. I'm probably less impressed with the female actresses on the show, but that's probably just a gender bias on my part. Cinematography, as noted. The clues and foreshadowing, as noted. Even though it was obvious where it was heading, and even though he had probably broken fully bad long before, the beauty of the show is that even having been fully caught up, I still struggle to define Walt as bad. I mean he clearly is, and if his reaction to the death of the motorcycle kid didn't cement that in, nothing will.... but even with that, one can kind of justify it all in their head. He just fell down a rabbit pit, and even when things go really really bad (the aforementioned kid's murder), Walt wasn't the one who did it. And the final beauty of it all will be its length. IMO, 5 seasons is the PERFECT time frame for a show. I guess this could be called 6 seasons, but its right in that ballpark. Stories need endings... well thought out, well prepared for endings. That don't drag on and on. That make you think, and leave you wanting more. Not dragged on series that make you stop watching or feel like a burden to have to finish (House is a good example of the later... we stopped watching a few seasons before it ended). What a great show. My two favorite series of all time: Based on true events: Band of Brothers Completely fictional: Breaking Bad Are there any other series that are all B's? They've got to be good.
Why do you think BB is fictional? I know its far fetched but i'm pretty sure many people have had circumstances like Walts...
Uhhhhh you know the definition of fiction and non-fiction right? Fiction isn't something that could never happen. It's just not non-fiction, which is something that is based on true events. A movie such as "Any Given Sunday" is fictional, but it could happen.
The whole Facebook thing, we're friends, be our friends, tell your friends, and enemies with Dish is too much.
I think the only way the ending of the show plays out is with Walt dying. Any other way would just be ughh
Spoiler This season started with him looking like his cancer was back. He was buying guns. Kind of looked like his ties to his family had been cut (his bday). And later in the season he's watching Scarface with his son. I think he goes out firing.
that would be stupid and would likely ruin the place that the series has etched itself for all time shows.
People always want sequels, spinoffs, prequels, and whatnot for shows and movies and stuff, then always complain how they "ruin the series" or don't live up to the hype. No movie...just let the show run its course, tell its story, and be done. You'll appreciate it much more that way.
