Here's a dumb question, the answer to which I either never knew or completely forgot:

Who tipped off Hank that those two guys were coming to kill him when he was in that parking lot?

Yeah, Gus did it. The attempted assassination of a US DEA agent spurred DC to ramp up its scrutiny on the Cartel. If Gus hadn't warned Hank, nobody would've known who was behind the attack. The Federales ended up taking down Juan Bolsa, one of the cartel bosses and it become very difficult for the cartel to get its own drugs across the border. With Gus producing meth on this side of the border, he then had the Southwestern US meth market cornered.

I have one too. How did Saul come into the picture? I forgot his origin. I'll rewatch all of them soon enough.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if that's how it went down. Thanks.

I think Walt just needed a lawyer to handle the legal aspect of his operation. I believe Jessee recommended him because of all the advertisements.

He was hired when Badger got arrested, I believe. That was the first sign that their fledgling business could be shut down.

Gus told him to obviously, but I thought it was Mike who actually called Hank, no?

I was running through a bunch of different scenarios for the finale in my head and this one really stood out to me... What if Walt sends a fake tip to the DEA of Heisenberg's whereabouts and gives them the location of the Nazis' camp? After all, he did visit the camp when he put the hit out on Jesse. The Feds will obviously bring the firepower and take everyone there down, maybe even Jesse. I'm not sure how the machine gun and ricin come into play, but it seems plausible because Walt isn't an idiot, and he knows he can't take all of them down on his own. He has no connections to hitmen, so he uses his situation and the ongoing manhunt to his benefit.

If this isn't the finale, it is the simplest solution to Walt's problem.

Are you sure he knows where this camp is though? He told them about Pinkman over the phone the first time.

Pretty sure he went and met them and that's where they told him "one cook, after the job is done."

Also, when he met with them to take out Mike's guys at the prison.

Not as far as we know. Gus never actually admits to anything, but Walt pieces things together and lets Gus know that he knows what happened and why.

There's never anything to suggest Mike was involved.

I'm pretty sure they met in a hotel room for that one.

How would Walt get his money back? If its there, the DEA would find it and confiscate it.
