Breaking Bad is the best show on television. Every single second of this show is just gripping, intense drama. The storytelling is so tight with no wasted motion. I'm constantly thinking to myself that the tension can't possibly get ratcheted up again but they keep on doing it. And Bryan Cranston is amazing. His character Walt is turning into a Tony Soprano caliber anti-hero. You recognize how he is a bitter, nasty human being but can't help but admire the sheer balls and brains that the man possesses. That last scene where he ingeniously lies his way out of the situation absolutely blindsided me and yet it made total sense. The "B" storyline with Jesse and the crackheads was incredible as well. Those scenes kept going down the rabbit hole into another circle of surreal hell. And I thought they did just enough with the little kid without making it sappy or saccharine. It was just a bit to tug on your heartstrings but not enough to compromise the tension or reality of the situation. This show is nuts. I can't say this enough, Breaking Bad is the best show on TV.
I agree, this is the best show on TV and most people dont even know about it.. This might be another Arrested Development thing..
After watching last night's episode, I was going "wtf" for the next hour. It left a lot of things unanswered, building up for the next season. I can't wait!!
The whole season has been tripped out. The cinematography and set design is always well done but every once in a while they come up with something truly surreal (the crack dens, the tortoise scene, Jesse's first H-trip etc.). You need to check out the ones you missed. This show is really special and unique.
Yes, it was. Very special and unique, indeed. And what a way to go out- Emmys for Cranston, Paul, Gunn, and The Show itself. What a ride.
McConaughey was robbed for Best Lead Actor (sorry Cranston, I love you, but this year it was true), but the legacy of Breaking Bad goes out with a huge bang. Great show.
You could honestly make a case for every nominee in that category winning. Well, maybe except Jeff Daniels. lol.
Still don't think Aaron Paul should have won over Peter Dinklage and I am a huge fan of both Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones.
This I agree with, but this was BB last year so of course they had to let them sweep. Next year will probably be the Mad Men year.
