My dog has locked himself in the bathroom twice. I find that to be a pretty amazing feat. He also has obsessive compulsive disorder. If you close the door to his house, he'll go over to it and open it with his mouth. You can keep closing it over and over again and he'll stand right there and keep opening it. Also, I used to put his toys into his house while I vacuumed. Of couse, he would pull them all out again one by one in defiance. And finally, I think he's a cat disguised as a dog. Whenever he is out walking and sees another dog, he crouches down on his belly and stalks toward them like a cat on the hunt. ------------------ Brought to you by the letter M.
My 110 pound Rottweiler can dunk a basketball! I wish. I'd be rich right now if he could. Like all dogs, he can lick his privates. That in itself is pretty amazing. Talk about the good life! For real, what's amazing about marley is that he is so huge and heavy and he completely respects the barriers that I have put in a few doorways to keep him in one part of the house. He could easily : a) jump over them, as they are only about 2 or 3 feet tall. b) knock them over, because he is so strong and the babygates are not screwed into the doorways. He'll even put his front paws on the barriers and stand up. He towers those barriers, yet he has never tried to go over them. It would be easy to say that he's just stupid, but Rotties are pretty smart and Marley understands a lot of commands. While that will never get me on Letterman, I find it pretty amazing. ------------------
My dog did an amazing thing last week, though it's not really a trick. He is a 5 y/o lab and has full use of the house while I'm at work. Anyways last week it was nice out and the windows were cracked open and the blinds over the sliding glass door was left open. Now I'm not sure what got him excited but for some reason he decided he needed to be outside for some reason (more than likely either neighbor kids were outback or possibly a dog in the yard or something). Problem is he decided to exit using my bedroom window which is on the 2nd floor. He pushed the window all the way open and knocked the screen out and jumped (or fell or whatever he did). It is a 15 foot drop to the deck! I'm really lucky he didn't break anything and he was sore that night and the next day but now he is great!
4chuckie, Maybe an evil robber was breaking into your house through that window and super dog saved the day.
Pued, My cat Tom does the same thing... smartest animal I've ever seen. Whenever I want to keep him in a room, I actually have to lock all the doors. When he was smaller he jumped on a table I had in the garage and learned to open the doorknob to the house by putting one paw on the top, one paw on the bottom and just twisting. I'll never forget once a few years ago I was out shooting baskets in my driveway, and I decided to bring Tom and two other cats (I have four) out with me so they could get some fresh air (they never get to go out except when I take them). Well, down the street and up our driveway comes this huge dog not on a leash, with no owner behind it. I frantically searched for the cats, got two of them, and put them inside. I couldn't find Tom for anything though... turns out the second he saw the dog he went and let himself in the door by himself. And what's funny is right now, he is such a long cat in length that he can actually stand up on his two back legs and open the doors like any person would. ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games.
