Agreed. I think they're both #2's Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Bosh is younger. I think this is a bit too optimistic. Amare won't change at this point. I too don't think Yao will ever return. But neither are post presences. I would much rather just have a clean start with the injury-free, attitude-free guy. I don't think it's worth taking on Amare's baggage and injury concerns heading into a reclamation project. We just finished an era that was ravaged by injuries to our franchise players - we can't start anew by building upon that same risk.
Y'all taking Bosh over Amare are crazy mo'foes. Amare is maybe a top 3 offensive post player in the history. He does it all in the paint while Bosh is a soft mid range shooter. Neither are good defensivly but Amare is a better shot blocker. Just look at Amare's rookie season, he was a monster in the playoff and only injuries slowed him down. I know he's less athletic than before but he developed a beautiful mid range jumper. I'd take him over Bosh easily.
yeah i agree with that...Amare can be and will be a monster...hope he can find his way to the Rockets!!
I concur with a lot of the other posters here. Amare is the superior talent athletically and skill wise. But he has an injury history, attitude questions, tough time getting his motor running (as does Bosh at times), and has just a flat out immature quirky personality and not in an endearing way. Bosh can be a more commited defender and is just more likeable. Amare is better, has more potential, but I'd prefer Bosh. Especially when Yao comes back. I caught an interesting blurb on the radio today mentioning a hypothetical scenario in which we got Amare, Portland got Battier, and Phoenix got Fernandez, McGrady, Landry, maybe Lowry, and dumped Barbosa or Richarson on us.
I like Bosh over Amare too. I never liked Amare's attitude. He seems like the kind of guy that whenever the going gets tough, he would blame someone or whine for a trade. His injury history is also a concern. And I think he has reached his peak. I don't think he will improve in any facet of his game. Bosh is less talented. Not a franchise type player. But if we can assemble a core of high end role players together with Bosh, we might be able to contend like Detroit did a few years ago.
I believe the last thing the Rockets want to do is get themselves in a mess like the one they did when they acquired Scottie Pippen. Even if the stable of talent given up isn't back breaking, you don't want to end up with a superstar that you'll be trying to unload in a year or two. Stoudemire is an explosive talent and would be more than adequate in filling in for Yao, but the question is - what will his reaction be when Yao returns? If he became a focal point of the offense here and then had to sacrifice some of that to Yao, how would he approach that? For those answers, all we and the Rockets have to do is look into his past. I believe the Rockets will make a big move, but I don't see Phoenix being the other part of that move. We'll see though.
