    Are you serious?

Amare is one of the top offensive players at the PF position.

His faceup game is nasty. He has a great jumpshot, and great athleticism.

His finishing is great as well.

You can criticize his defense but please...

    Voice of reason...

WojYahooNBA Knicks haven't yet made an offer to Amar'e, sources say. Sides will talk over weekend. LBJ and Wade still recruiting forwards for themselves

If I was Walsh/NYK, I'd save the rest of the cap room to make a run at Carmelo next year--that's a match made in Metropolis.

The effect that Nash has on Amare's numbers is being way overstated. Does Nash make player around him better? Yes. Does Nash get Amare easy looks and help him put up numbers? Yes. Is Amare the same as Channing Frye? No. Stop acting like Amare wouldn't be a top 5 PF/C without Nash, he might not get the easy looks, but he is far from a bum without him.

Eddy Curry's $11 mil expiring and an increase in the salary cap will provide 80-90% of the cap space needed for next year. Knicks can still sign 1 max player and a 2nd player at just below the max, and they will have all the cap space they need.

I actually think that the Knicks have already missed out on Carmelo. I do not see the Nuggets letting Melo's contract expire without any thing to show for it. If he doesn't sign an extension they will seek to trade him during(or maybe before) the season. If they do, whatever team trades for him will first try to secure a commitment from Melo to a contract extension. So imo, Melo will not be testing the FA market next season and the Knicks will not have any assets to offer Denver in a trade.

paulcoro RT @LEXthePEX @paulcoro Any new info on the Rockets after Amar'e? (S&T w/Hou is a possibility w/Scola & picks involved. But Hou wants Bosh)

doubt it...lebron knows he needs a solid big man in the middle defensively and Amar'e isnt it....Lopez might be enough, but i think he may favor Noah because it groups him with Rose.

thats probably why this will be such a hard decision for Lebron...he knows basketball and realizes you need a big defensively and none of these teams with cap space have a traditional shot blocker.

I am sure he made some improvement on his own. He still owes at least half of the improvement to Nash. His FG% is going to be less than Bosh, next year, without Nash.

Makes sense - he loves the D'Antoni (no defense) system.

Honestly, David Lee would be a very good compliment next to him. If they're going to strike out on LeBron (and they will), they should really think about bringing back Lee at $8-10M and finding a second tier wing or point to give them a fighting chance. Heck, they could probably send a TE to the Nets for Devin Harris, Cleveland for Mo Williams, or to Washington for Hinrich.

Interesting. I still think D'antoni and Amare will be nothing without Nash. Assuming Lebron doesn't go there, we just have to hope they don't find a way to trade for Chris Paul or Carmelo before next year's trade deadline (or draft if we keep the pick).

So much for the knicks striking out. I was hoping that worst case scenario would have Amare and Bosh going to Miami and Chicago. I think Amare is a clear upgrade to David Lee.
