And he makes the Suns less competitive and likely puts them outside looking in come playoff time.

The concept that amare was an average player without Nash is ridiculous. He was on his way to stardom before Nash showed up.

The face that he is replacing a similar player in Lee means the knicksnwould still need to sign another solid fa to make some real noise but amare is a clear clear upgrade for them, if signed.

David Lee is a better rebounder and gets 2nd chance points. Amare will have Toney Douglas(1.7 ast) setting him up. At least Lee had Duhon(5.6 ast) at PG instead of Douglas.

This signing would improve the Knicks just enough to give the Rockets the ability to swap picks next year (top 5 protection) and get 2012 outright (top 1 protection)
    ;)

assuming they get no other upgrades

Yea, but this could be the first domino leading to one of the Big Fish going to NY.

The way things are going, Amare will probably be the best we get. His numbers are inflated playing in the offense he does (Suns get a lot more posessions per game than most teams), but he would certainly make the Rockets better.

His defense is bad, but would not look nearly as bad playing next to a good defender like Yao.

Before Nash got there he shot 47%, and i expect his FG% to plummet without Nash.

In 05-06 Stoudemire missed the whole season. The suns won 54 games and Nash had the same numbers.

I've been saying since the trade went down that this was likely the worst case scenario for the Rockets. I can live with that. But I think it's just as likely that the pick could be in the #8 to #11 range, with a "puncher's chance" at getting the #2 or #3 pick.

That guys twitter, I sure hope Lebron doesn't end up going to Knicks or they might have won the Tmac deal. We would have got Jordan Hill which isn't bad but adding Jared Jeffries contract, while letting Knicks get Lebron and Amare would suck.
