Homerism and jealousy aren't the same thing and that's the point. The rooting for Yao has turned into criticism of Amare when it doesn't have to be that way especially while the guy is having an unbelievable year. As far as me insulting the whole site, you're just reaching now. I never said the whole site and I definitely didn't mean it.
If there was no homerism, what is there to be jealous about? It's clear you are talking in circles here. You say its jealousy and not homerism, but then in the next breath state that its b/c some love Yao that they have to criticize Amare. Give it up, dude. When you say something like "The hate for Amare on this board is sometimes scary.Get over it folks" it paints the posters here with one broad stroke and that's what irritated me. Anyway, I'm done. I'm a little disappointed with myself for getting into such a petty argument so I'll give you the last word, friend. (even if it doesn't make a lick of sense )
Not everything is connected to Yao. Some people just recognize that Amare isn't all that he is made out to be by his flashy dunks and chest thumping. I dislike Amare's game and don't think he is as good as ESPN claims, I also dislike Quarterback Crunch Ice Cream flavor and don't think it's as good as baskin Robbins claims, it's all about personal view.
I've not really noticed Amara as being anything more than a great great finisher & a very good 1 on 1 player. In the Suns system that's all he really needs to be.
You take any BBS with 15,000+ registered members and you will have a significant faction that hates ANY player you bring up. It seems pretty pointless to say, "Wow, there's a lot of hate for (player name)". You get 8-10 posters that hate on a player, they are typically the most outspoken, so it looks like there is a slant. In Amare's rookie season, there was probably more hate for him because he sometimes made Yao look bad and he won the ROY. But since the guy has exploded as a monster scorer this season, I really haven't seen any more negative posting towards him than the average player on a rival team.
