wow, one more reason why I hate the suns. I actually kinda liked this team before the game started. Now they are climbing up my list for teams to destroy.

    Teams to Destroy:
    1. Utah Jazz
    2. Tennessee Titans
    3. Phoenix Suns
    4. Boston Celtics
    5. Dallas Mavs
    6. San Antonio Spurs

He is correct thinking he should have done much better against Scola and Landry. Not so much Hayes.

But I don't think he was trying to talk any smack. I'm sure Boston wasn't insulted when Yao said that he played terribly against them.

I'll give Scola credit for Amare. KG isn't really known as a full blown offensive big guy any more. He's not going to go off for 30-40 points on you like these other guys are capable of. Plus, if I remember correctly Scola fronted him and had help from Yao. So no credit for Scola.

Scola got torched against Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki and Aldridge tho.

Scola has played great against powerforwards that shoot jumpers. KG has been more of a shooter and so has Amare. I'm not saying Amare doesn't attack or KG in that matter but both are shooting more jumpers than they have ever had.

Aldridge and Gasol are much bigger and were attacking the basket. That's what gives Scola such a hard time. He tries to be soo physical with them and gets himself in trouble.

I don't like Amare, but he's right. He should abuse them. That dude has range, and can dunk from anywhere in the paint. I think the Suns were trying to get Shaq off and Amare suffered for it for most of the game.

from past games we've done a good job holding amare down...he either shoots poorly or usually gets into foul problems

If Amare was a Rocket and Hayes, Scola and Landry were on the Suns you would think Amare had one of his worst performances and thought that he should've dominated last night. Which he should have.

Although different positions.... it's the equivalent of a Tracy McGrady getting shut down by a Harpring, Korver, Brewer.

The homerism on this board never ceases to amaze me.

i was pleasantly surprised of how well scola defended amare. landry was clearly the worst of our pf trio.

but at the end amare is right. he had a very bad game. he usually dominates us.

Yeah, well every player in the game SHOULD dominate, just very few of them are able to.

Or to read him more sympathetically, maybe he's making some kind of "I'm better than I appeared" argument. For that, I give him one brownie point and one in the "L" column.

He even said that he has nothing against them, but he should be dominating those players, I don't have a problem with that. Amare is a superior PF than all 3 of them.

Well, it's not surprising he is talking down on our PFs .. he is an all-star after all ;) . So I hope see Scola or Landry (maybe both) voted into the All-Star game this year.

why is anyone pissed? He's become a great player, and he should have dominated that game! He got lost in the shuffle, and he wasn't enough of a focus of the offense either b/c of the incessant pounding the ball to shaq.

    quit being so defensive..

The problem with Amare and anyone watching him play should realized this.

Amare is a beast once he catches the ball close to the hoop and jump in for a monster dunk...That's it...people he is not a dominate power like Duncan or KG. Amare is a catch and dunk guy like howard in a smaller frame.

Amare is not making his jump shoots and trying to post up our PF too much. he is not a post player like Karl Malone. he needs great position under the basket and dunk. That's why Nash is so valuable to him.

our PFs were doing a great job on defense and denied him position underneath the basket. Amare was unable to post up or backdown him man if he's not nearby the basket.

You may not have watched Amare play in the last 24 months. If that's the case, I understand.

I think Amare developed a jumper after his injury. His jumper is pretty nice.

Well, considering we had the same combo of PFs last year, and Amare went off for like 30 or something in the last game we played them, I can't really say I blame him for feeling like he SHOULD dominate them. On paper, Amare should be able to dominate most PFs.
