Well he still has time to do that doesn't he? If he can get out of Minny, there is no doubt he will go deep in the playoffs. Oh and BTW I would say he is the most intense and has the most heart of any player in the NBA. Whoever is saying he has no heart has never seen him play EVER. Or they are confusing him with someone else.
This guy has lost all credibility. I bet he has seen Dan Langhi play more than KG. He can shoot 3's, post you up in the low block or the high post. Face up and shoot a jumper in your eye and all this why being one of the best team defenders in the game and rebounders. Also, he was amazing during those playoffs a couple of years ago. Granted Cassell was a big part of that team but KG almost single handedly put them in the finals because Cassell was hurt most of the series and did not do anything. Go watch Dan Langhi and keep being a homer. Hopefully all you know is Rockets because your NBA knowledge is pitiful.
PHX has 2 first rounders this year and 2 next year including Atlanta's unprotected that I mentioned earlier. They have a total of 6 draft picks over the next two years. They should forget about wagering Stoudemire and use those picks packaged with contracts to acquire another all-star caliber post. 6 picks + Diaw, and some salaries to match is an extremely enticing package for anyone, especially teams looking to go in another direction. J. O'Neal, R. Wallace, Randolph (sigh), Gasol, Curry, Haslem, B. Miller, etc... All seem like reasonable targets. There time is now. They need to go ahead and take the luxury tax hit. The championship hangs in the balance!
Do it...good trade for both sides. Garnett is as good a defender as any other big man in the league. He's not quite the finisher that Amare is, but, overall, he can contribute more on the offensive end than Amare can. For the Wolves, it's a no-brainer. They won't get any better than Amare in a KG trade. Amare is still incredibly young and seems to have recovered nicely from his injury. He's also hungry to get better. His youth gives the wolves a larger window to dump their deadweight and build around him.
What does Amare do for Wolves to keep them from Lotto '08? If Wolves determine that trading KG is right then BLOW IT UP, BLOW IT UP! BTW - if Juwan was a sop to KG, then wither Howard after KG moves on? Just curious...
Just saw on realgm that Suns are trying to trade for Garnett WITHOUT giving up Stoudemire? How the hell are the other teams suppose to survive?
Minnesota gets: Boris Diaw Marcus Banks Zach Randolph Phoenix gets: Kevin Garnett Portland gets: Shawn Marion works on trade checker and solves everyone's problems. Minnesota: They got pretty good value in return for Garnett. It's not dollar for dollar but it's not pennies on the dollar either. They immediately get a starting power forward and a possible starting center in Diaw. Banks can be their 6th man off the bench Phoenix: They get their man. Portland: With Marion on board, there's no pressure to draft Durant. Draft Oden and their roster looks a lot better than it did before.
Minnesota taking Randolph? And not even get the Atlanta Hawks pick?! Ya right. Thank god they banned real GM from this place. According to ESPN the Wolves wont make any deal with PHX without Stoudemire as the centerpiece. Fair enough...
Phx is right to try to trade Diaw and Marion instead of Amare. Amare and KG would be so much better than KG and Marion/Diaw. But in that deal Phx should at least have to give up just about all their picks for the next 2 years (including next year's unprotected Atl, except maybe 1 late 1st as required to keep by rule) to Minny, and even then the trade is light. Maybe if Portland also through in a couple of their 2nds this year and 1st next year. So that Minny gets Randloph, Diaw, Banks, 2-3 1sts from Phx over the next 2 years (including Atl pick), two 2nds from Portland this year, and Portland's next year's 1st.
Minnesota gets four 1st round picks (including at least 1 good one from ATL and maybe another good one from Portland), two 2nd round picks AND three players for a guy who makes something like $25MM, can opt of his contract at the end of the season, and has publicly limited where he can be traded to (not interested in Boston)?? Minnesota has to trade him or lose him, and apparently he wants to go to Phoenix. Minnesota doesn't have the leverage to get that much for him.
I didn't think much of it when KG's agent mentioned Phoenix but now that I think about it, I think it's a real possibility! Amare for KG straight up, I think Phoenix should do it. Or even if its Marion + (Barbosa or Diaw), Phoenix should still do it. From what I remember they were shopping around Marion anyways, because they can not sign him to a max contract. They already have 2 max contracts. But with KG, I think any team would be willing to carry an extra max contract.
I hope Kevin McHale wont go nuts and trade KG for Marion + Diaw + 2008 #1 (Hawk's pick). Man, McHale dont need to build a championship team - the Suns, before he retires.
I would trade amare for kg the only bad thing about that trade is the question on everyones mind how much more longer can kg play at such a high level?????
ESPN sportcenter just said that Boston was giving up 5 players not named Pierce + pick for Garnett, the T-Wolves agreed but KG shot it down.
I don't think he does but I am pretty sure he has more leverage because he's literally been the franchise ever since he was drafted. He also has a trade kicker I believe?
