This is a terrible idea in my opinion...We don't really need a lot of help at the power forward. Scola is fantastic and while Amare is more of a scoring threat, he's also a prima donna. He wants to be THE MAN on a team - how is he going to feel being second or third bannana?

I definitely think this team needs to make a fairly significant deal to shake things up, but I don't think PF is what we should be looking for and we could really use a leader.

Chauncey Billups would be absolutely perfect for this team right now. We need someone like that, I just don't know who would be available that is comparable to that. This team is starving for a player that can take command of the team, physically and mentally.

T-Mac for Nash would be good.

    DO NOT WANT.

Poor character guy, selfish numbers guy, abhorrent defense, and I'm certain he's going to be exposed the second he's on a team that expects him to be a first option that others can feed off of.

I'll take Scolandry (21 and 13) over him any day. Stuffing the dream teams with players like Amare are what ended our Olympic dominance.

Besides, playing with Shaq is hurting his game - he can only terrorize teams when he plays at the 5 with a good PF keeping 4s honest. It would be the same thing with Yao.

Rodman played with jordan and pippen. I don't know how long you've watched hoops, but those bulls-pistons playoffs games were murder. If jordan can put whatever aside, why worry about a scrub like rafer?

i'd prefer to keep keep away from excessive contracts. scola and landry are productive and will be cheaper for years to come. Plus , and most importantly, i don't trust amare's knees

I actually like Barnes as a player but I dont see Morey getting him because of what happened.

If morey doesn't take barnes, its not going to be because of the incident. If that was the case, why was jackson on the team?

There are some good ideas in this post, but I miss the days when we drafted players who spent their entire careers, or the vast bulk of their careers, with one team. Once upon a time I had great disdain for the Jailblazers, but now I really like how they have built their team with young players. I wish we could hold onto our draft choices -- I for one would have been very happy with a developing Rudy Gay and Donte Green. Look how popular Scola, Landry and Brooks have become. Oh, well.

It was many years ago when him and Tmac got into in and he felt they could handle it.

Well look at Eddie Griffin, SF3, and players of the sort. Unfortunately the rockets don't operate that way anymore. I mean look at Luther Head, he's been in a slump and everyone is calling for his head. I don't think championship contender teams really can afford to hold on to and develop first rounders... Kudos to teams that can.

That was exactly what I was thinking.

Can you imagine what a player like Amare would do to not only Aaron but this team as a whole!

I doubt it will be done, but it would bring so much of the swagg and tenacity that this team is missing. I mean even with bringing in Artest it really hasn't risen up our overall athleticism like Amare would.

And can you imagine! We may have the 2nd coming of the twin towers if this were to happen. That would be awesome. We'll see...

not quite. yao and amare are not david robinson and duncan in that they're not as good defensive players (not even close). but they'd be something to watch offensively.

Not trying to be too "manly", but men can "compartmentalize." Men can work with other men they can't stand as long as it helps them win. Shaq-Kobe, McHale-Bird, and Jordan wasn't well liked either, but respected. So they whole deal your building up is b.s. when it comes to winning. Allen doesn't care for KG, but he know KG can help the team get a ring. That's all that matter with these players.

What??? Are you serious? Amare's contract is far from excessive. I mean I'm pretty sure he has an option for 2010 and if we bring in at least one of the other stars that's going to be available I don't see why he wouldn't resign and win (another) a chamionship with them + Yao. Just sayin...

And maybe we can make a package for like Tracy and others to throw in J Rich and scrubs. Ya know whatever works.

Amare on the Rockets would be entertaining, to say the least. What I'd like would be: Tmac/Amare pick and rolls, Amare at the high post, Amare/Yao in the paint together, weakside blocks, and Aaron Brooks, Amare, Wafer run n' gun.

But again, highly unlikely unless other teams are completely scared to offer for Amare.

That wouldn't be too bad of a trade except one thing, they sad Nash was the only untouchable from the whole team. *shrug*
