i would LOVE to get amare. i love the guy's game and dominance time to time. but the fact is, even if we do get him, we're going to have to change up our team a lot which i dont know is worth it at this point of the season.

but yeah, like most have said, what this team needs most is an elite pg who can penetrate to the basket, pass out to our team whom lives off 3s, and be an efficient scorer at the same time. brooks is fine but we need an upgrade of rafer.

Don't want him for the reasons mentioned in the article along with the fact that the guy REFUSES to play defense. We already have someone who does that

Scolandry has been playing excellent. We don't need a PF! All we need is a PG!! Morey, please don't do this!!!

Amare's whining about Shaq clogging up the lane and taking him out of the game, what do you think would happen if he came here? He'd be in the same scenario only with a worse PG

Sure he will score the ball well but the guy he's guarding will just score right back. So why do the trade when our PF is playing efficiently.

I'd rather trade Artest and Skip for Mike Miller and Hinrich respectively. Let's wait until 2010 to make a run at him if we're really that interested. That way we don't have to give up anything in return, we just give him T-Mac's current money, give or take...

Although Wade is my signing as of today for 2010.

As much as some may oppose this, it would be UNBELIEVABLE to get this deal to go through. Amare Stoudemire...37ppg vs. Spurs in a series. Averages about 20+/10, was around 26+/10+ a year ago? Young...I don't know how Rockets fans can oppose getting him, even if it's a PG we need.

Bribe a pg to come to Houston with McGrady/Amare/Yao.

I think teams with young talent will get Amare, though. Beasley? Mayo? Rose? I doubt Mayo or Rose is offered, but Beasley is possible.

And according to the article, the Suns look for cap relief so anything is possible.

Not gonna happen, there's nothing to see here. Not only can we NOT offer enough he's also not a good fit. You can't be naive enough think he would be able to play any better with Yao than Shaq when they both clog up the middle the same way. That's the root of the problem and whether Shaq or Yao -- that's not going to change. Plus, how stupid is Kerr? Would he really trade him to a conference rival?

Sure, if you told me Artest + Landry gets it done i'd do it in a heartbeat. Even that's not enough though. I'm not interested in seeing us trade half of our team (almost certainly including Scola and/or Brooks) to play mad scientist.

Even if we get Amare, he or another one of our key players will suffer some season ending surgery, and there goes our championship hopes down the drain. it happens every year no matter what kind of team we assemble. the rockets could have a lineup of magic mj bird kareem and hakeem and we'd still wouldn't win the championship. there's a cloud hanging over the toyota center.

And he won't have Nash to feed him in Houston either. Plus his no contact defense will make Scola look like a defensive specialist. Not to mention his knew might just broke again when the last thing Rox want is more injury.

The guy is so overrated, a lot fans only see his offense, but never noticed how much he gave up on the other end. His impact simply is not max worthy.

I prefer we keep things a little less BHAM!
How about a Rasheed Wallace rental pre-deadline. We get shotblocking and range from the 4 spot. What else could you ask for?

lol. before this slump he has (and he's still shooting 51%), he was putting up 24ppg on 56% shooting (and that's with most of the offense running through shaq and nash still).

his defense can get better, but he's young. but offensively, dude is as talented as they come. can score inside or outside, run the pick and roll or iso. he would be a perfect fit under adelman (he could imitate chris webber, without the passing ability though he can pass decently)

Only if they throw in Nash. ;) It'd be poetic if Amare and Yao are on the same team, about as poetic as Francis and T-Mac on the same team.

Seriously, I don't like Amare. He's an arrogant prick. I'd rather have Scolandry.

we can put in artest for battier and landry. but id definitely want mcgrady in there being a tmac fan. maybe steve kerr would consider it if shaq promises to retire in 2010 along with mac's expiring.

check the games he's played without nash.

hell, he can score with freakin' marbury as his PG.

the problem with him is on the defensive end. he doesn't need anyone for his points.

Sheed is the reason the Pistons have underachieved the last few years since winning the title.
