They get a young athletic 4 and a back-up shooting guard, barbosa was just included so the salaries would match, i dont like him much either

Its tempting but I'm sure we can get a better deal for Artest than that. The Bobcats would run away with murder with that. Larry Brown would love it just because of the veteran leadership Artest and Rafer would bring to the team. When i suggested the Baron Davis and Steve Novak for Artest and Rafer I thought that would be a win win for both teams.

Its known that Baron and Coach Dunlevey are at it. Elton Brand pulled a 180 on the Clippers so I would think this would be a good place for Baron. Another reason I came up with this trade is because the Rockets organization always seem to bring in injury prone players. So this would be a good home for him  But one can only dream :D

Prove he has been shopped heavily with no takers. Prove he has been described teh worst off season acquisition by their oranization or something other than fans.

And you are using fan reaction as a basis? Their team is struggling because B-Diddy left not because they signed Maggette, most fans don't have a clue, and are ignorant....just my opinion though.

Just read the articles on ESPN, Yahoo, CBSsportsline,ect.... That's where I've read about Maggette.

They are struggling partly because Davis left. He was not worth the contract though. Nelson has destroyed that team.

I agree most fans are ignorant.

    I'm actually enjoying this debate

Most journalists are writing to sell papers and are no more knowledgeable than some of the kids on here.

Whatever, we shall see.....what happens...I do not want Amare for too much....on the cheap..sure...but not if it guts other positions.

Doesn't sound like a player I want to give up a lot of assets for.

That's true. However, Maggette's problems have been well documented.

I honestly don't have a problem if we don't trade for Amare. My personal guess is we don't have enough, and he will end up in Miami with Wade. Just a hunch. I would definitely like to be rid of Artest. I'm confident I'm not alone in that feeling either.

Amare brings terrible defense, and at the same time we'd have to trade away a good defender in Artest. Our offense might improve a little bit but our defense would definitely suffer and we also lose financial flexibility. JVG would be rolling in his commentator's chair.

I'll part with Ron-Ron and Carl for this.

It won't happen, but I don't see Ron signing with us for the long-term. I could see Amare finding a home here.

Shaq is stealing his thunder and potential.

    Yao would complement it.

Lol you really think so?? With the Chinese fan base and all. Amare will be in Yao's shadow and McGrady. He won't be the man here no way.

Although I still believe in the current roster I will join the party and put my trade scenario in. I feel we are more in need of a scoring threat at PG than at PF. And with seeing some of the names that are thrown around on here I came up with this. Before you guys come down hard on me saying Phoenix wouldn't take that deal I already know that there may be a better one for them out there but I'm actually thinking as a Rocket fan and wondering would you do it from the Rockets perspective.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...94~336~1727&teams=12~21~21~10~10~12&te=&cash=

Phoenix are looking for cap relief (some writers say) and would get an expiring contract this year (Artest) and next year (Camby). Not only that, I feel these two guys would fit what Porter is trying to do and the season may not be lost and they still could make a push for the playoffs. A lineup of Shaq Camby Artest JRich and Nash could compete against anybody. Clippers or Rockets could also throw in future picks to Phoenix to help the trade.

Clippers know that they aren't going anywhere and could plan for the future. They have good young talent in Gordon and Thornton then you add Amare to that front line of Kaman and Randolph. They will get a PG that can run the show in Alston, he might can't shoot but he won't have to on that team. Plus he brings alot of other things to the table. They will get a high pick next year and could be back in the playoff hunt imo. But the most important thing for them is they get an allstar in Amare and get rid of BD's contract.

As I said in the opening, we need a PG more than anything. With BD we will get a scoring PG who plays D. He is also big enough to defend the likes of D.Will and make them have to play him on the other end. He can run the show, he has always avg 7+apg and give you 17+ppg. Then you add in Grant Hill who is long away from allstar status but is a professional and plays that way. He is a good defensive player and still can score when needed. When he is on the court he is going to give you all he has and I know he will fit this system. A starting lineup of Yao Scola Battier TMac and BD with Landry Brooks Hill Wafer Barry and Hayes/Deke(on occations) would compete and be prepared to battle anybody in the playoffs.

  Wow that's a great trade proposal. I see nothing wrong with that. LOL at least we kinda have the same idea on what point guard to get even though my proposal was different but that is one hell of an idea. Only if dreams can come true :D
