Those are Ron Artest's numbers last year.

Maggette is just a scorer on a bad team. He used to play defense, but he doesn't anymore. He's a team cancer and a stats player. No team will take his deal. I'd bet anything on it.

TMac and Shaq expire in 2010. They have value to other teams. Raef's contract is what's putting Portland in trade talks. Agree on Arenas. I'll put that beyond Maggette. That being said, it was as much a business decision for Washington as it was basketball. He was the face of the city, they couldn't let him walk.

This is where we differ, I think he would change the way he plays if he was on a winning team ala Mike Bibby.

Maggette would fit in perfectly and Battier's relationship with him would help channel his skills.

And we need a guy with an attack the basket at all costs mentality, it is what I liked so much about VSpan......and the potential he had....

Now the only one who has that mentality on the Rockets now is Aaron Brooks if you trade him, then you now have no one to attack the basket outside of Tmac and as we have discovered he does not do that often enough, and probably never will.

You've got to be kidding me when you said Vince Carter doesn't have a bad contract. Just cause the Spurs are interested that doesn't mean he has a good contract. How about these guys

    Kenny Thomas
    Monte Ellis
    The New York Knicks
    Eric Dampier
    Kenyon Martin
    Troy Murphy
    Zach Randolph
    Tyson Chandler
    Andre Kirilenko
    Gilbert Areneas

Would you like me to add more people??

mistake to give up Scola.....their arean't many players out there who will do what scola does....he brings heart, grit, toughness, rebounding and all the little things....
i would be pissed if they got rid of Scola..even for stoudemire...not worth it...

Agreed Clutch, but I never said Ron had a bad contract, we were discussing Maggette's contract and whether it was a bad one.

My beef with Artest was and is the way he plays does not fit with TMac.

When I watch Maggette I see a guy moving off the ball and getting into great position to score, meanwhile I see Ron standing around on the perimeter and then trying to dribble in when he gets the ball.

To me, this team needs a Rip Hamilton, Mike Miller, Corey Maggette type who moves off the ball with the purpose of scoring.

It also needs a quality PG, either one works and fits and makes the team better than adding another PF that has essentially the same production as the two we already have and for a lot more money.

Bibby has always been a good shooter. He's also been on a winning team and delivered in the clutch. Maggette is the opposite. However, we can just agree to disagree on this one.

    Amare attacks the basket :D

You must be young, Bibby was on the Vancouver Grizzlies when he got traded to Sacremento, it really jump started his career.

Amare needs someone to get him the ball....to attack the basket, we need someone that can create the shot for himself as well as others.

    Yep

Thomas's contract is finally tradeable. The Knicks have positioned themselves perfectly for 2010. Dampier is on par with Maggette. Kenyon Martin is actually contributing again since he has Billups. Troy Murphy is better. Zach Randolph is brutal but he's still better then Maggette. 20/10 always and left handed. Tyson Chandler is way better. Kirilenko is a tad better then Maggette. Arenas is worse.

Ok, you just don't like Maggette, you consider Zach Randolph better, you are ok with his production but not similar production from Maggette?

    LOL.

I'm aware that Bibby was on the Grizzlies. I said he'd been on a winning team (Sacramento) and performed well in the Playoffs. He was also the same way at Arizona. Look at how good he made Miles Simon look. I'm still relatively young though. Not that it matters here.

You need to watch more of Amare.

I watch a lot of basketball including Amare, I think he is great, but he is not that much more efficient than Scola/Landry, so therefore the team would not be better overall with Amare.

I despise Zach Randolph. He's still a better player then Maggette sadly

but we wouldnt be giving up scolandry it would probably be amarola since landry is the younger and more likely to go if a trade were to happen.

eh wth am i even posting here...i highly doubt we make any significant trade.

Maggette is terrible...if your own fan base is willing to let you go for a 2nd, you know you suck.

Corey is simply a chucker, I would hate to have him on this team. No team wants him.

That's just an assumption with no factual basis whatsoever. We would be keeping one of them anyways.

One last thing on Maggette. I would be willing to bet no team would take on his contract for free right now. Not one. If all they had to do was absorb the rest of his deal without trading a single thing, they wouldn't touch the guy. He's that poorly thought of right now.

Not really, but a solid try. Maggette has been shopped heavily with no takers. He's been described as the worst off-season signing of any player. He's had problems with teammates (most recently an argument with Jamal Crawford), and been boo'ed by his own fans. I can put some factual basis behind my statement.
