with all that facial hair and the extreme goofiness of Dwight, sometimes you forget just how young Harden is.

All the time, we were 1-0, 2-0 not long ago, that's like 100%, and previous season openers too...

I know, the point is I am still holding the excitement a little at least until we have played OKC, Heat and Indy.

Have you seen how Pops yells at his players, at the refs, and at opposing coaches?

Harden yells at them because McHale does not do that. I think he yelled at Omri for letting Bellinelli shoot a 3 on him.

Wrong night to start this thread lol.

ETA: I *would* like the timestamp for him calling Casspi a dumbass, though.

He probably isn't a great leader. Just cause you are the best player on the team does not mean you have to be the leader. Maybe he will grown into that role. As long as he isn't a me-first chucker who sulks like Melo, then I don't care.

Guys like Mark Jackson or Chauncey Billups were not the best players on their respective teams but were the leaders anyways. Our team could probably use a veteran presence like that. Harden is not that guy - yet.

    They all want to win

It's the heat of the moment and Harden isn't the only person who has yelled at a teammate during a game.

I like that he (Harden) asserted himself!

Everyone on the floor needs to be on the same page

Who is going to yell at Harden if he makes a bad play?

Harden's fine. These guys are friends and like each other. I'm not worried at all about any bad vibes or attitude problems on this team. Don't stress over something that's not there. Harden was an OG tonight and led us to the most emotional Rockets regular season win that I've seen in a while.

If I recall correctly, there was an interview after Harden's trade on how will Harden fare in new role as the best player on the team and starter. He said he already had that role in college, so he was comfortable with it. Don't know though if this means he's any good as a leader. One thing I know though he certainly leads with example on offense. Though his bad defense might make some other players lethargic on defense too...

Remember when Jordan hugged Luc Longley or gave John Salley love tap on the face.

Who cares, he needs to be holding players accountable. I just hope other players yell at him when he blows an assignment on defense too.

I think the guys are all good friends and feel comfortable holding each other accountable. I see Howard and Parsons barking at guys just as much if not more than James (and often barking at James for his defense). I really just think this is a team with no "alpha dog", which I like. Everyone feels comfortable criticizing each other, but it doesn't seem like anyone takes it personally.

Exactly. A lot of work enviroments is like this, especially those where situations get very tense. Everybody get caught in the moment, saying things they would normally never say. When the project/game/whatever is over, they grab a beer or dinner together and usually seem like nothing happened.

Harden's teammates surely know that stuff he says are said in the heat of the game and don't take it personally.
