It is to be expected. Like others have mentioned hibbert is a great defender and howard is still trying to find his game. I wouldn't look too much into it.

Yeah, that was so incredibly unfair, the height difference between Howard and Yao was the same as the height difference between Lin and Howard.

On a side note, I really miss healthy Yao Ming. It didn't exist for long, but when it did, damn it was amazing.

THis is the double-standard we see often around here. I mean Lin gets scored on by Russell Westbrook/Kemba Walker or any other capable starting pg and people want to tear his head off. Howard struggles and it's "well ROy's a good player!!"

As far as this being the pre-season, yes I'll buy that. But his history shows he struggles against quality big. People can hate on what Kareem said, but do people think he's taking personal shots at Dwight or does he genuinely feel that way?

I was only able to catch the first half, but Dwight was clearing Hibbert out of the paint on D with one arm like a little boy. To me it looked like he was just working on his midrange (which he really doesn't have the touch to hit consistently). Hopefully he stashes that in the offseason/preseason.

But those freethrows... Its like he's not using anything below his shoulders. No way he hits those under pressure with adrenaline going.

I'm just trying to figure out why Howard was using one move all game long. Face up, fake right and drive left. Or fake right and spin back left. No back down, hook shots? No jump stop, jump hooks?? Not a single hook was used that game.

You're going to need more than that to be unstoppable. To be unstoppable you got to have a counter for everything the defenses are throwing at you. Howard will never master that... this shouldn't have been done early in his career.

Like others said, Howard probably was focusing on using the same 2-3 moves (and the bank shot) to practice in a real-game situation, or as close to it as possible.

Howard doesn't transform what is learned in practice to the game.

i was hoping to see Dwight making some nice fade aways, up and unders and hook shots

but his move looked not much better than Asik

He def struggled, but its just preseason. I would be worried if this was the case during playoffs.

You don't become a 3 time Defensive Player of the Year without transforming what is learned in practice to the game.

I have faith in Howard but I'm not going to act like I didn't watch Greg smith who everybody say should be traded for a pick step up and win the game for us against Howard and the lakers last year

Dwight is the best center and top 10 NBA player, but hes not perfect...last 2 pacers games Dwight was not impressive statswise but his presence on the court alone enabled us 2 easy wins...without him we sould simply be killed on the board like we were killed 2 times last season...
besides it was preseason and he was practicing and trying some moves...

Apparently you're not paying attention to this thread. Nobody is questioning his D, it's the O that's questioned.

Hibbert is a beast. Tyson Chandler is still crying till this day about that beating Roy gave him in the playoffs.
