Nobody is saying giving up Scola for Bosh. We absolutely can not get rid of Scola. He and Lowry are important pieces to this team. We're hoping to get Bosh without giving up Scola. As i said before, if we have to give up Scola for Bosh, then I don't see much of an upgrade. Not saying Bosh isn't better than Scola, i am saying we're very thin inside if we give up one big and gain another big guy. I do think Bosh is better than Scola but Scola has something that would NEVER EVER show in stats...that is heart, toughness, hustling and he does the little things that win games. So nevermind about stats, in terms of value...i think Scola is as valuable as Bosh. Not to mention the chemistry he has with this team. It would be nice to have both.
I agree ... at least sort of. I'm definitely FOR getting Bosh ... but not if it costs us Scola. But, I think DM and LA are feeling the same way, so I'm not worried.
Lowry Martin Ariza/Battier Bosh Yao That team would shoot 100 free throws per game and be pretty solid definsively to boot.
No it wouldn't because no one would guard Lowry on the perimeter everyone would pack the paint and the Rockets would suffer because of it. DD
LOL i was about to say, don't even mention Lowry as the Starting PG. DD has a scan for any threads that mention this and post something about it. He beat me to it......
Ever watch the Celtics play? How about the Spurs? They've won a few championships between them without a range-shooting PG.
I love Luis Scola too, but Scola is a restricted free agent. The Rockets can match any offer sheet he signs and, bluffing or not, they've said they will. "Offending him" by pursuing a big man is not an issue (he can't just "walk") and I don't think going after Bosh is ruling out Scola. Either way, they're going after Bosh first.
Couldn't Luis just take the 1 year tender though, and make himself an unrestricted free agent next year? For that matter, couldn't Kyle as well? I think ultimately that may be what DM wants....so that they come off the books at the same time as Yao......in case Yao is done. DD
Scola is 30. Why would he risk that? He can get a long term deal now. If he gets hurt or declines next year, he's screwed. Kyle wants to start and is young, I see that more likely in his case.
I have a feeling Brooks will be included, not Scola. I would imagine the Raptors want Hill so they can rebuild, not add more 30 year old players.
