    I want a defensive PF...

That, or we draft a good rookie and let Jordan Hill develop...

Offensively Amar'e is perfect. Can stretch the floor, can drive, can do anything.

    Defensively he sucks.

He's gonna be a near max or max player.

Hell, I'd take either. When did we start thinking we could be picky about this sh-t? We make it past the 2nd round sometime in the last 13 years and I missed it or something?

Now he's a beast but the past two games in LA he was a scrub.

    Figures.

    Amare needs Nash...we don't have a Nash.

With Amare, Martin, Yao, and Lowry, the Rockets would live at the free throw line. It would be an incredibly efficient offense.

Defense is would be another matter...

Since the thread title compares Bosh vs. Amare (as if that hasn't been done enough on this board already), you should know, that Bosh actually averaged more FT attempts per game this past year than Stat (8.4 to 7.7). Amare is slightly higher for his career (7.8 vs. 7.4), but the difference is equally negligible. Short of more in-depth analysis (ft's per shot attempt, per minute, etc.), I think it's fair to say both Amare and Bosh are offensive machines, and highly efficient.

There's really no adequate response to Amare is in the playoffs and Bosh isn't, so Amare is the better player/fit. By that logic, Pau Gasol wouldn't have made sense for the Lakers (or, more comparatively, Amare would have been a better fit for the Lakers than Gasol - which is entirely untrue).

I don't know who the better defender is. I think, generally, they are both fairly average at defense. But I personally think Bosh is a little better, tries a little harder. Bosh is the better rebounder. Bosh is the better passer. I think Bosh is the better fit for our Rockets team, coached by Adelman.

Note, as an aside, Bosh only played 2 minutes in the last game of the season for him. Though he still had a higher overall mpg average than Amare, I think simply playing 2 minutes in one game has a different impact than playing a minute or two less every game, and negatively impacts Bosh's per game stats for the season - not enormously so, but something to consider. For example, Bosh's FT attempts per game is actually 8.6 excluding that 2 minute game (where he shot no FT's).

He is best off of the pick and roll where he can explode to the basket. I seriously doubt his affectiveness without Steve Nash. Pairing him with Yao would probably make him ineffective.

Amare is not scrappy enough around the paint or enough of a jump shooter to fit in with Yao. Then there is the whole Knee's thing, and the attitude problem.... Bosh is a better fit.. trust me.

Amare would have been a decent pickup this past year if we were a bit closer to making the playoffs... I assume they pulled the plug on the deal because of that as well as the health issues long term.

    Screw Bosh we want Scola

Bosh might be good but he doesn't have the heart like Scola. I feel we look at Scola and underestimate him. This dude has all the post moves and has the jumper. He can rebound and and hustle like no other. He might not look like a gem but I believe he is a very important piece to this team. Bosh might have more size but he still is no Scola. Scola was able to play lights out as the only post scoring present for us last season. He can only get better with Yao coming back and a new season upcoming. Don't forget about Scola!

    Scola Scola Scola!!!!!!!

I agree why pay someone 2 times the money for about 15% improvement.

I would rather have 2 good players for $10 million each than one really good but not great one for $20 million.

I agree. Scola is vastly underrated. If the Rockets lose him it will hurt us more than it appears right now.

    Bosh
24 ppg, 10.8 rebs, 52% shooting, 8.4 FTA per game, 59.2% true shooting, 25.11 PER

    Scola
16.2 ppg, 8.7 rebs, 52% shooting, 3.3 FTA per game, 55% true shooting, 17.22 PER

I love Scola, but I'll take Bosh please. Even if we have to trade Brooks.

The fact that Bosh gets to the line consistently is HUGE.

    Oh, and one more thing:
    Bosh- 26 yrs old
    Scola- 30 yrs old

    I would rather have:

    Scola and Hill

    or

    Bosh and Hill

because that 15 percent of improvement gets you that game winning shot.

I would take on Bosh, but I would not give up the ship to get him.

I really want to keep Hill, too.

Give me Jordan Hill and Demarcus Cousins coming off the bench next year...

    Scola = Winner

Bosh = All Stats......nothing to show for it. I categorize him in the same are as Al Jefferson, great stats, but their teams historically are on the losing end. Many will defend the Roster issue, but I remind you, Bosh plays in the east where teams with a losing record may have a chance to make the playoffs..........

Bosh = Pau Gasol, needs to go to a team already established with a Super Star. Yao isn't a super Star, nor is KM or AB.
