oops.....I guess I just like him that much. I forgot to list David Anderson completely. That should tell you what I think of him.
This. If we overpay for him, he's going to cripple our franchise and we'll lose quality players on this squad.
I think that pretty much sums it up. I would not be THAT excited, but it is a deal we might have to make, and where else are we going to get a potential superstar?
He is not worth the "farm." I have concerns that he could turn into another TMac; seems a bit fragile. I would like a big, bruising, not injury prone player. I am really tired of "paper" players made of glass.
Trust me you're not the only one. We forget that Bosh played in the eastern conference and he's not a back to the basket type of PF. What you'd have to give up to get his is not worth it plus you'd be loosing Scola to free agency because to the move.
No you aren't. I think if we had the money and picked him up as a free agent without giving up anything great pick up. Not willing to give up Scola, Brooks, Hill for Bosh not worth it we have a chance to win the lottery even though chances or slim but we won Yao when we had the worst chance. With Yao back we can win it all with the team we got.
I agree with this thread. I don't think we'll get Bosh for a reasonable price. Plus I really liked what Scola gave us last season. Bosh would only be a marginal upgrade over Scola in terms of talent ...but Scola is the hardest working player on the court and great chemistry guy. I'm happy with Scola as our starting PF and Hayes/Hill/Jeffries as backup. We need a solid backup 7' center. Ariza/Battier are the obvious places that could use an upgrade. But if I could upgrade Kevin Martin, bang! I like him but I'm not sure he's a winner.
Its not that I do not want Bosh its just that A: I do not want to give up any of our core and prospects B: I do not want to give a max contract for 5+ years to a player who has question marks regarding health. -Maybe Its just the aftertaste of the T-Mac years I have in my mouth but Bosh's max contract would severly destroy any flexibility we have for the next Half Decade, and we would pretty much be all chips on the table. Not enough to resign Yao(if healthy), Brooks, or another key free agent after 2011. That means our core would potentially be Bosh and Martin, playing with the D-League all-stars. And do we really want to ride out like we have been the past years just hoping and praying our two stars will find a way to get healthy once again? Maybe Im just a pesimist and have read into too many rumors about Bosh's knees and back, but I do not want to risk another T-Mac 2.0.
No you are not the only one. And yes, a lot of fans on this board are against. Me, I am not one of them. Bosh is good, but as the top PF this summer, he is going to expect to be over paid and frankly, I don't want another McGrady situation because that is what will happen if we break the bank to try to land that boy like many folk around here think we should. I'd rather we get a legit big man that can play defense and has been on a winning team then someone who can't even advance past the first round of the eastern playoffs against a 7th seed.
I'm indifferent. When talking about getting Bosh, I usually preface with, "If we're going to try to get Bosh...." I'll leave it to Morey to decide if that's the upgrade we want and whether the price is right.
