I like over achievers. Some of the most fun seasons I remember were the perennial 8th seed teams. Of course I loved when we had stacked teams, but losing hurt more because we SHOULD have won. It’s hard to build or develop a stacked team. I think the general direction we have gone gives us the opportunity for two timelines. An immediate, mediocre, competing team that maybe can overachieve while keeping enough young potential and cap flex to stack in the near future.
As much as ones needle can be moved by one game, mine did. Mostly confirmed some of what I hoped. A good thing. But the litmus test is months away still Wait...wait...wait...
I’m excited to see Amen, KPJ, and Tari being our primary second unit I think the luxury of them coming off the bench will be what pushes us into the playoffs and makes us a wild card this year Green and Jabari need to figure it out quick. They are the ones I’m worried will slow this team down
I do believe we have way more skill on this team this year compared to last year - both in the starting line up but probably especially on the bench: We went from: KPJ / Nix -> FVV/Amen Green / Gordon -> Green / KPJ KMJ / Tate -> Brooks / Tate Jabari / Tari -> Jabari / Tari Sengun / Garuba -> Sengun / Landale Big upgrades at PG and SF (with Cam somewher in the mix at all) - and while the other positions look kinda similar, remember that we are comparing 2nd year Green with 3d year Green etc.
