lol - you know every year I would excited to see the new rookies and how the previous year's rookies grew up. And every year I'd see the 1st game and think, the new rookies are busts, the old rookies are chuckers who are also busts (with few exceptions). BUT this year....woohoo - LLWLWLLWWLWLLW...
Yes this team slightly improved and with DB and his antics and woeful shooting I'm not expecting a big jump from this team this year
The dumbest "analyst" in the NBA thinks we did a good job. If that's nit the final nail in the coffin, I don't know what is.
I think we’re sleeping on this team. We lost last year intentionally. There was never a doubt this team would not finish last season with the best odds at the number one pick. I think you introduce a new culture and now you actually let these guys play, I think they are a play in team possibility.
I remember last year, all the magical thinking about how many games we were gonna win. Then preseason happened and people got more excited. Then 22 wins happened. this is not a good team. Adding FVV and Dillon Brooks doesn’t make you at 40-win team. There’s not a person in the GARM that if I told them a year ago, we’d be getting rid of KJ but adding FVV and Dillon Brooks, that would say, “wow, that makes us a play-in team”. Lots of delusion from fans. But hey, I get it. When trama happens sometimes you have to protect yourself through warped rationalization. Fire Stone and Pat.
Everything is dependent on Green, Smith or Amen becoming a top 5 player in the league if we want to be a championship level team. FVV is a solid starter to help the young guys. We still need a trade for a disgruntled star ideally at SF by cashing in the BKN picks.
Actually 19-20 wins happened but glad the boys did win 3 more games in the end when nothing mattered.
Our starters could barely beat tanking teams but we’re somehow going to win an extra 20 games this season.
I'm not nearly so optimistic as some of you seem to be. I expect we will win somewhere around 30-33 games this season. But winning nearly 50% more of our games and seeing the young guys take steps forward is all I need from this upcoming season. I'm really hoping to see Sengun, Green and Jabari take big leaps forward and I hope one of Amen or Whitmore surprises us and vastly outplays the expectations you would have on a rookie. I think it's possible because frequently one of the biggest issues with rookies is they simply aren't strong enough for the NBA yet. Amen is 6'7 220 already. Whitmore is a truck. I suspect they'll still have to adjust to the speed of the game, the defensive schemes, the IQ of NBA players, etc, but I just don't see size and strength being much of an issue for them and that's at least one less gigantic hurdle for them to overcome. I would be beyond thrilled with making the play-in tournament this year. That would definitely exceed my expectations for this team as presently constructed and at this stage of our youth movement's development.
Very reasonable response. It’s nice to see someone being logical and cautiously optimistic than all the crazy hand-wringing going on.
This offseason has been one dry hump after another. It's so underwhelming, I just want to see them play, then slash and burn accordingly. Stone...you've done enough!
On the other hand, Jefferson and Redick like our moves, and they're generally solid, so who knows. This Dillon Brooks signing got me agreeing with DD about something. We live in a strange world.
Good coaching and adding more established players will show improvement straight away but how much will affect the record vs last season? 10 wins at least 15 or more and I think it would be an amazing season.
